It would seem so. I was just exploring what you meant by slap but you're right I dont think you're too far away from the opinion of many on here.
Its a crazy world where this sort of thing can happen, as far as I'm concerned if you set out to rob or burgle somebody and they stick a knife in you, you've got nobody to blame but yourself.
Re: Its a crazy world So it depends if he was running away. It seems as though if he was stabbed mid-burglary, it's ok but if he was already finished, or was on the floor at the time, the guy's in trouble. Personally, if someone comes into your house in the middle of the night to rob you and you disturb them, it could get nasty, quickly. I just don't understand why this country seems to be quick to defend criminals but not law-abiding people pushed into dangerous circumstances against their wishes.
Well said Luke. It's not Home Alone, it's real life. I can just imagine the judge telling him he should have heated the door handle up and put marbles on the stairs.
Re: Its a crazy world You're quite right Luke, this country is in a mess and IMO its the ridiculous liberal PC brigade that have done a lot of the damage. Thankfully we seem to be heading back in the right direction and with any luck this guy will not punished.
Re: Its a crazy world Cant ait for the Gaurdian's make on this....... If somebody breaks into my house and my son is asleep upstairs and I come face to face with him in the kitchen - and he's holding a weapon he broke into my house with - then I'll quite happily rip is f@cking head off If he's running away its a different matter - try and catch him and just give him a good kicking
Re: Its a crazy world Because once you kill someone you are no longer law-abiding. And it's a fine line, because if you allow people to kill any intruder that comes into their home, then whats to stop people inviting someone into their home in order to kill them and then saying that they broke in? As I said....each case has to be reviewed on it's merits.
There's fowk on here giving it the big 'Guardian readers this' and 'Liberal bu/\mers that' where every post has basically said exactly the same - if he's in the house, he deserves a good kicking and can expect to have the **** kicked out of him. But if someone pulls out an air rifle, runs upstairs and shoots the **** in the back of the head as he's running away you should go down. You're arguing with yersens. Kin ell.
have to agree with you here In the forces we were constantly hammered into us the "Rules of engagement" and use of minimum force.Yes I know thats the military, but the bit "mimimum force" has to be the key bit in all incident for me. If the guy who was stabbed was also about to stab the owner then it is indeed self defence...we may not know the facts ever, suppose the intruder had the knife and the owner turned it back on him... we may never get that info. But on the face of it I agree with you Dyson.
