did we really start the game with a midfielder in defence?

    Leave it out now lads

Getting a bit silly and sounds like you 2 need to meet and have a chat face to face, not over the internet.

No need, Allen's arrogance always gives him up on here.

No one can honestly say they don't have a private moan and a groan with their mates/family etc when their team is struggling or someone rubs them up the wrong way, but for people who consider themselves to be true fans and name their football team after the club they supposedly support, then go on message boards slagging off the players and the management of that very team, at a time when their full backing is most required, is hypocritical and bang out of order.

Wigan pre-season friendly last year, Heskey I think scored a goal which went straight under Kyle Letheren's body - should have saved it easily. Hence the groans around the stadium and the ironic cheers every time he was involved after it.

In the commentary, my exact comment was: "A Sunday League goalkeeper would have been disappointed at not saving that shot," which was describing the poor attempt he had made at saving the shot.

Through the rest of the game, I praised him numerous times and said he'd been our man of the match in the second half, which he had, and even used the term 'world class saves' at least twice as he did indeed more than atone for his error.

However, Mr Davey's daughter was listening and told him after the game that 'one of the commentators had called Letheren a pub goalkeeper', and so Simon kicked off, and I got asked to leave the station.

    Simple as that.

God's honest truth and completely accurate description of it. I have PMs from a number of Barnsley World listeners at the time who concurred with that summation.

Nothing whatsoever up with me. I suggest you take a good long look in the mirror.

I like to think I tell the truth on air and give a balanced view. I'm not into what virtually amounts to character assasination and making remarks that could potentially damage a player's career by shattering their confidence.

Mounir El Haimour always puts in a lot of effort, yes there are certain aspects of his game that need addressing but for you to suggest on here that he wouldn't even make it into a "supporters" club side, following a game that you didn't even attend is laughable.

You have certainly shown your true colours on this bulletin board today Allen.

It was said tongue in cheek Matt

This board is here to have an open discussion and to have a laugh and a joke.

Obviously no professional footballer would fail to get into any Supporters Team for goodness sake. If anyone takes that seriously I give up.

What would you say about a certain member of the team's on air comments about Nick Colgan - nearly every game - for 2 seasons?

Just because I didn't go to today's game does not mean I'm not entitled to make an opinion or to question the logic of playing 4-5-1 at 1-0 down. The criticism was justified as we tested Weale once according to your commentary.

If you read many of my posts, including today's, you will see I've stuck up for Hammill, Steele, Anderson very recently, and even the manager on one thread. Oh... and the owner.

But you just read and choose what you want to pick out.

    In El Haimour's defence

his secondary position is full back, and has played there in pre-season. And frm what i heard, he was probably our best player, think i'd rather have him there than Kozzie or Potter at the moment. (hidebehindsofa)

    RE: No they don't clash

I you'ed to like Allen's interveiws, thought he spoke well and honestly Just because Davey or Rob Knowels didn't like it is irrelivent not like one or two who are a bit up the clubs a#se. The Dearne fm man comes to mind. Not been stright with fans is one of the reasons why we've got the Davey out gang so loud. On that point I tend to agree....JMV
