RE: bit sick init? no, not sick, she stood by her beliefs right or wrong no matter who got hurt... fauklands/miners/steel industry/publishers. I stick by mine she was a nasty person and people who suffered at her hands are now going to rejoice.... its her turn
RE: bit sick init? she was not adolf hitler!! rejoicing in someone elses death is a bit sick in my opinion
RE: bit sick init? Tell that to the people who had family members murdered during the strike by her henchmen.

Her exact wwords were ... "The enemy within" ..... .... yeah right, a group of men who wanted to work to support their families ..... phrases like "the enemy within" should be directed at the likes of the London bombers not striking miners. First class bitch of the highest order ... oh and for those who were brainwashed by the bitch and believed all her media propaganda, just remember this, Scargill said she would close down the mining industry in this country .... and he was right!!!
That was probably the biggest insult of all. The visiting coppers and firemen used to say "You want a grand a week for working down here." All the miners wanted was a fair wage for doing a bloody hard job.
RE: bit sick init? she was worse than hitler in some ways. any person who can treat fellow country men in the way she did does not deserve any sympathy. fact. she rode roughshod over peoples civil rights and altered laws to suit her tactics, yes she was very noble and a peoples champion! and I personally have as much sympathy and respect for her as she had for me and the people of Yorkshire
RE: I accept that she was a mean bitch Thatcher lied to us all regarding the viability of the British mining industry and the extent of the closure programme. She lied to the Notts miners to get them to break the strike and then stabbed them in the back. Obscene amounts of money were wasted to make the mines seem unprofitable In real terms the destruction of the mining industry has cost the country much more than it would have to subsidise it in the way other countries do and now we're dependent on a foreign market over which we have no control. That's the true Thatcher legacy.
RE: Pass me the axe ......I have a long standing deal with about 20 or so mates to meet in a certain pub as soon as we hear she has finaly popped her clogs. Will be a huge party! People have promised to come from far and wide......the deal was made over 10 years ago! All this Engerland flag waving histeria sometimes masks the fact that 20 years ago it was class war in the UK, the boss class had Maggie leading them and us common plebs had the unions......which should have been enough to win but tradgic sell outs and week willed bureacracts lost us the battle.....despite a heroic fight from the miners, families, friends and supporters. The people who argue she put the "Great" back in Great Britton are really saying they are happy the working class were put back in their place and the boss class were victoroius. God save the Queen! Rant over...... (
Correct. Thatcher mounted a massive media/propoganda .... ... campaign against the miners because she knew that if she didn't she may face a general strike which would topple her government. 'The Enemy Within' comment was an integral part of that campaign and the majority of the population, outside of the mining communities, fell for it. The miners were badly let down by the TUC, who's leaders stuck their heads up their own arses when the miners needed national support from them, because they were scared of the repercussions from Thatcher. Needless to say the TUC got what they deserved as a result because the government in power (be it Tory or Labour) have taken the piss out of almoat every union ever since, hence most workers get what they are given, as and when the employer feels like it, and can do f*ck all about it. RIP the NUM and RIP the rest of the Trade Union Movement cos you all **** yourselves when you were needed the most
RE: I accept that she was a mean bitch The job I was talking about was not closing the mines and destroying the unions, it was moving the UK away from heavy/old industry to high tech/knowledge based industries. I agree, closing the mines was a massive mistake, I'm never going to stick up for the Thantch, don't class me in the same mould as Westie for gods sake.
destroying heavy industry was marvelous especially with a world shortage of steel, rise in shipbuilding etc etc.
Its great to import everything we need and export little.
Its great that we import energy, steel, coal etc etc saves us getting our hands dirty....

Ah but We are good at insurance and finance and loads of other stuff that doesn't actually involve creating anything but just moving money around. Oh and we have lots of call centres - oh hold on that's India isn't it!
Have I missed something Looked through BBC website but can't find anything about her being in hospital or owt. You heartless b*st*rd Windy, have you no respect for peoples feelings? - you got my hopes up for a moment!
As a self confessed "fluffy" who is opposed to the unnecessary loss of any life I felt a bit strange when Dennis Thatcher died, I wasn't glad he'd died but I did hope that the event would absolutely devastate the evil, inhuman bitch that he was married to. Anyone who has posted a message of support for her on here obviously never personally suffered due to her actions or saw the people they loved suffering. The callous, self serving, grasping meglomaniac pitted family member against family member (no pun intended), wrecked communities, took from the poor to give to the rich all in order to feather her own nest (and those of her allies).
I don't really want her to be killed, I'd much prefer her to publicly deteriorate, suffer intense humiliation, then die painfully and slowly whilst retaining full insight into her own condition.
Or is the post German related as in THE Thatcher, THE, a la Sideshow Bob with his Die Bart Die tattoo?
