you cant play him every game. he needs to be dipped in and out. Today was in, tuesday might be out hes 17 not 27. For ryhill, Paul Digby's just one of the talented players that are in u18's and rnl's just as good as digby along with Rose/clark/stones. not a bad job the the PE teachers doing hey.
He doesn't look scared of anything - get some experience under his belt - as he is doing and imho we'll have a very good midfielder in the next few seasons.
Was going to make a wise crack about the hokey cokey but i won't because- 1-i might be branded a bully. 2-i might be seen as trying to be a a smart arse. 3-i might come across as a dick. So i won't.
Today was the first time I've seen Digby And I was very impressed. However, when he has a less than impressive game (and he will), I hope he doesn't get dogs abuse from some sections of the fans. Young players will make mistakes, encouragement should be given when they do. Hopefully, this goes some of the way to help them play without fear, express themselves on the ball and be a positive towards fulfilling their potential.
I believe it's the best way Not only for Digby, but any of the young lads who may get selected. Some may think differently.
I think the kid was excellent today, and was the main reason we got a point Really encouraged by his first two performances, and for different reasons both games. Against Brum the praise was mainly because he didn't look out of place against much more experienced opponents. He did the basics well, mopped up a lot of possession and played the ball simply, but with quality and assurance which belied his age. He had a quiet first half today, and there were plenty around me saying 'take him off,' but for the first 15 mins of the second half he was the player who did most to lift the performance. He took the game by the scruff of the neck, got on the ball and made positive runs and passes which helped to get others going as well. He was the first midfielder all day to actually run past Davies. Of course it's early days, and he will have poor games in time, but what is really encouraging is that he doesn't seem to be a player who has one or two distinct attributes, and if he can get games between now and the end of the season and show improvement in different areas of his game, then we'll have a real player on our hands next year. Really hope there are a few more like him in the youth setup.
i will and you will but we arent on message boards having ago at him or them. neither are you someone sat in row N shouting abuse that them having swiming lessons could hear. He passed slightly backwards against brum and a scottish guy shouted at some volume flipping rubbish.
Wayne Rooney was playing regularly in the premiership at 16 for Everton. If they are good enough, they are old enough. Digby is a good player so might as well play him more now while there is less pressure on the lad.
Agreed. I've seen enough in 2 games to understand why probably Doyle is no longer "wanted" and to warrent him having a run in the side to the end of the season.
Re: A 17 yr old with The confidence to try and get the crowd going So it's OK to hammer the lad about his Sunday Sun comment, but if he says anything in an "I told you so" way, as was done (and then some) in those threads, he's a patronising little whatever and should **** off? And the threads about buying items of clothing in town weren't trying to belittle him? Just checking. Seems harsh...
