Rothred - I am that supporter who happens to have a disability!
(ST holder in the East Stand Upper.) Not happy that some people choose to be defined by their disability.

Now there you go you see, if you had started the thread with "Im a disabled fan and I dont like it that a group of disabled supporters who sit in an area easily accesible to disabled supporters, have got together and decided they would like to vote for their own player of the season", we would have known where you were comng from. As it is, you appeared to be someone looking for a fight where there wasnt one.

Maybe if it was called the disabled stand's player of the year, it would sound better (of course, a stand can't vote, but calling it the people who sit in the disabled stand's' player of the year is going a bit far). Also, why do they, and everyone else who sets up their own award, get two votes? Not that it really matters, but I imagine members of certain groups who have their own, vote in the official one too.

I think the main reason it seems a bit odd is that it is presented at the ground, which makes it an official one. If that group of supporters had wanted to do their own and held their own awards ceremony at a different place, it would make more sense. At the moment, it seems like it was the club's idea, as if they thought that disabled supporters needed their own vote - although I now, after this thread, realise that it wasn't.
