Agree completely, Whitey. I tried to defend him in the past, and tonight is the first time I've said that he should go. I have no idea who we could get to replace him, but at this point i think even Mr Blobby could do a better job. Out of interest, what did you think of Hourihane tonight? Still stand by that he hasnt been a liability recently?
Felt for him. Seemed the tactics were to pass to him and then run as far away from him as possible. He constantly had 2 or 3 men to beat and all he could do was try to put a ball in the box, which he did quite well once or twice, especially that ball in to Hemmings who rather than try to head it just dangled a leg
Torally agree unfortunately. I have been very much behind DW but today was abysmal, no excuses at all.
That's spot on mate. If someone would have tried to get on the end of them, Smith put enough crosses into good positions for us to have won the match. As Kev said at the beginning though, Pearson and Scowen were superb and didn't deserve to be playing with so many largely disinterested teammates.
George put in some woeful crosses tonight, hardly cleared the first defender on five or six occasions...but I'm not knocking the lad as a player or a prospect, just saying we mustn't over egg the pudding, he was rarely supported, and did suffer a little from a lack of confidence or hesitancy when a quick ball might have been better...but to his credit he was the only player to put in 2 or 3 top class balls...the half hearted leg out from Kane would have been a goal had it dropped to Winnall.
