I’m not defending the building of them.

unfortunately the staffing of them comes from the same think-tank that believes 6 million economically inactive citizens can’t wait to pick vegetables. It’s utterly bats!

Of course ‘some’ ex health professionals will relish the opportunity to get their hands dirty for a short while - but the vast majority of people don’t retire because they fancy a couple of years off, or move away from a vocation on a whim.

They left because they’re old or they’d had enough, or they’ve moved into another area of healthcare that’s still required.

I didn't think you were defending them. It jist seems barmy to me to build them knowing you can't staff them. They can't be an overflow if you've got no nurses so it was just a huge waste of money. A vanity project to look like something was being done

A Minister Alok Sharma was actually taken ill with Covid symptoms today in the House of Commons
and is now in self isolation.

Just watching " Newsnight" which is highlighting the number of cases in Care homes.
It's absolutely scandalous. We have apparently now got the highest death rate of all
    the countries within Europe.

Looking at all the evidence , it appears to be far too early to ease the lockdown and a rise in cases could well be the result.

Watching the report on Care homes, it's obvious that testing of residents and staff was far too late.

We were too slow to react, with NHS trying to free up beds in hospitals by returning patients to Care Homes WITHOUT testing. So wrong!

And it leaves you with great respect for carers within those Care homes.

Correct. Outrageously stupid strategy of not focusing attention and resources on those who needed the greatest care, and instead applying blanket rules across the board.
