I know a lot of us asked whether K.D was the right player we needed, at that time. And there's a difference isn't there, between a so called number 10 (a Redfearn or a McAtee or a Moncur!! for example), and an out and out striker, like Cole. The recruitment is being questioned again right now, because I think they/we have f*ked it up, yet again!. Well done Jaq and co!.
Any professional manager with credentials should be able to have a system that can suit 2 central midfielders and 2 attacking midfielders, surely?
I am not sure our central midfield alone is the biggest worry. We seem to be still weak in our striker dept and left side wing back, right side centre halfs. Im seeing some players with regular starts or racking more mins than i expected. Looking at how the balance of the squad is now playing out we dont look like we have a squad that works over 95 mins. We do seem to have centre mid options. I think our current start is great and would be even better without the unforced keeper errors. Hopefully the play off place continues but we will know more by the end of the month when we see where we are and the gap from the top 2 and the bottom 4.
Redders was most definitely not a 10. He may have had the goal output of one but he was squarely an 8, a proper box to box midfielder.
It is pretty obvious to us that DKD and Phillips should not be in the same side. Not sure why the head coach is persevering with this. Won't be a Problem in January ,as Phillips will be sold ,for decent cash.
