    That's a great question !

It was a great goal and I know that last year i'd have been doing my nut and been elated. I was pleased and happy but nothing like I used to be.

It's probably also that I'm a reight miserable old git as well !

A couple of things happened to me this summer to bring your final statement into sharp relief.

Stop complicating prices for our own fans

Simply to have the opportunity for fleecing that little bit extra out of the away support. Stop insisting a number of trips to Oakwell are required to take up concessionary offers. Do everything we can to encourage pay on the day fans and make our own supporters feel they are valued. One price for admittance (dependent upon which stand is used), irrespective of opposition.
    For starters.

I think it's showing to me that I have total contempt for the current regime - Rowing, Taylor, and what I perceive as their total lack of customer focus - not just pricing but nearly every interraction with the club is a barrage of policies and procedures which show to me that they think 'customers' are a hinderance - and that is affecting my feelings for BFC, but I'm still 100% behind whoever happens to wear the shirt and whoever manages them - they represent Barnsley, not whoever happens to be running the club at the time.

I might get a bit of my total nutjackness back if/when a new regime moves in and sends Taylor (especially) packing.

Re: Stop complicating prices for our own fans

How can we expect to keep people interested when we have been near to the bottom of the league for years.
It's only natural that people are fed up of seeing Barnsley struggle season after season after season.
Pat Cryne is a hero for saving the club - but he just hasn't got the financial clout to make the club a success.
But Pat Cryne is keeping us in the second tier of English football - which is a fantastic achievement.

And yes - the status of the club is vital for the standing of the town.
Barnsley Football Club is the only thing in Barnsley that is keeping the town of Barnsley on the map.
Therefore, the owners of the football club are the most important individuals in Barnsley.

Leeds has a population 3 to 4 times the size of ours yet their average this season is just over 22,000 compared to our 9000 so I'd say in the current climate we aren't doing bad

I want a championship club but i refuse to pay £28 to watch Barnsley play 90mins of football. I dont think its a good return on my money. I feel the board fail to understand without having lower prices how can there persuade a very cash strapped local community to find £28 or even near to £100 for 2 adults and 2 kids. I am expressing my right to stay away from the club until the ticket prices reflect the wages earnt by the local population and football is once again made affordable and accessable for all.

I find that a really interesting and at the same time sad post. Over the last three seasons I've found myself sat at Oakwell, often freezing my nuts off, wondering what the hell I'm doing there with absolutely no entertainment on offer.

Unlike you though, I find that my enthusiasm has been renewed. I say that as I'm seeing the team trying to win games instead of just waving the white flag and I can also see a plan being laid. Unlike Davey/Robbins whose philosophy seemed to be "bring in as many players as possible and eventually they'll click" Hill seems to be recruiting with a purpose.

I can well believe that if I hadn't taken a leap of faith on the season ticket this year I wouldn't have missed it either but I'm glad I did now.

I think the club does try hard to get people in and you can't knock the free kids ticket. I wouldn't have paid for an ST for my 4 year old on the basis that I had no idea if he'd like it and paying on the gate is just too expensive. Now he's hooked, so its worked.

I do think that the coming the day before a match is counter productive. Working in Leeds would rule me out for such a deal. Why they can't mail-shot all ex-season ticket holders and say that we've automatically enrolled you as members - turn up on the gate with this card and you pay "X" at the gate I don't know.

Lets cut the lies shall we? Fans DID pay £12.50 as seen by the 5,000 extra pay on the day fans.

As for the other ones. Perhaps its because no fecker has got a clue how much it is to get in when we sneakily reduce the price but only advertise that fact in small print at the bottom of page 61 of the chron, in french. And maybe, just maybe people cant work out how to go about getting these discounts because they dont know what colour jeans they have to wear when they go to the box office exactly 14.356 hours before kick off to qualify for the discount.

BFC have cocked up massively by announcing a headline price of £28 which is too expensive and then trying to offset this by offering half arsed discounts to people in a special club who buy tickets on certain days, at certain times and with certain vouchers. Lets cut the crap, it's £28 a game and the only game they spent any effort advertising a discount for got 5,000 EXTRA people to buy a ticket.

That tells me something even if it doesnt tell you or the club.

These are my feelings too. Been a season ticket holder for years, attending since 1980. Disillusioned with ticket prices and the inept running of the football club I gave it a miss this season choosing to pick my games. Went to Middlesbrough at home and that's been it. Not missed it a bit, and as a fan that hurts to say. Was going to go on Tuesday and pay with the centenary card, but had to work later so would have been 7.30pm at the earliest to get to the ground. That meant missing the 90 minute deadline to used the card. So I just thought sod it, why should I bother.

That just about sums somes it up supertyke..

they should bite the bullet and charge 20 quid a game for the rest of the season,,no more cryptic clues as to what people will have to pay.
