Do people genuinely believe that Hassel isn't good enough to make our matchday squad?

Re: Thanks everyone, a reasonable thread for a change.

Your gentle, considered views contrasting with Nudger's immediate, passionate notes provides a welcome and credible framework on which I can hang my own vague random and increasingly detached viewpoints. It's all about teamwork. Jim O'Brien is the most important and vital footballer currently on our books - have that.

Best right back in my 25 years at Oakwell - Nicky Eaden.
    Never had any pace.
Best midfielders - Craig Hignett and Neil Redfearn. Never what you would deem quick.
Best strikers - Neil Shipperley and Ashley Ward. Not very speedy.
    .
The day that Nudger told us that 'Kin Keith was the best manager we've had in his lifetime (he's older than me) was the day I ceased taking his opinion seriously.
    .
To answer the OP, yes, Bobby would be the first defender on my teamsheet. Unfortunately, I haven't witnessed his legs going, his many mistakes, or foul language.
However, it's Keith's teamsheet, and Keith's head on the line.
So what can we do? Nowt.

    Agree with you Whitey.
I always felt more comfortable with Darren Moore at the back for certain games, and look at his pace. My point being that BH may be caught out for pace, and will probably come unstuck against some teams. But he'll put his head where its needed, and get stuck in. He's had 7 years of relegation battles against top players. You don't need to be fast e.g Moore. And his introduction partway through a game would lift the fans. He should certainly be in the matchday squad. On his day, I'd probably go with John Stones, but he seems to have gone off the boil at the moment. But I would play BH before Wiseman or Crainie at RB. I just wish KH would give him another go. Its an ideal chance for him to have a shocker then KH can say 'I told you so' and we can see that perhaps the rose tinted spectacles need to come off. But then again, maybe KH darent do this in case the BH supporters are proved right!

I'm wi thee YT, course he is good enough. He hasn't got the pace of wiseman but his reading of the game is better. Wiseman is often so far out of position he could be a 10s 100m runner and he still wouldn't get back in. Bobby is braver, more experienced, and is a leader. I also haven't seen these negatives that people keep levelling at him.
