Why would the Lincoln game be representative for us in the playoffs and not the derby game or even the majority of the Bolton game or much of Peterborough away?

Here's the Head to Heads of the current playoff sides (games - for - against - points)

    Peterbrough - 5 - 9 - 4 - 8
    Bolton - 6 - 9 - 4 - 7
    Barnsley - 6 - 8 - 12 - 6
    Oxford - 5 - 4 - 7 - 5

If Peterbrough beat Oxford then they'll comfortably have the best record. Our defensive record is the worst of the four also.

I've no idea what this teams capable of, just when I'd given up on them pre xmas Kane interview time I said this lot won't get us promoted. Then after Derby game I said I had got it wrong but after the last 2 1/2 home games I think I'm back to square one. The away forms automatic home is mid table I'm in the not got a clue camp but i don't think anyone will want to play Lincoln in the play offs.

We need to change our outlook somewhat.Reaching the playoffs is an achievement for the 4 teams who get there.
Obviously all the teams involved would prefer automatic but its no disgrace finishing in the playoff spots.
For all the constant club knockers of the board ,manager and players to say they can't run a club,he's out of his depth and they're a bunch of cheap lower league signings, playoffs should be seen as a massive over achievement.

I'd currently feel negative if they were starting now, I'd feel that we were 4th favourites, and rightly so.

However, I've watched (as we all have) a lot of play off football, including Barnsley, and I think it's pretty unpredictable. I can argue that Posh, Bolton and Lincoln are better than us, and have a better chance, but I could equally argue against it. Posh are either superb or awful and will have some awful memories from last year, Bolton are up and down and may have some scars from last year's campaign too and Lincoln may be peaking too early and get sussed out soon (under new manager).

If we somehow got to the final, despite the way last year ended, 5 or 6 of our starters would likely have that experience to rely on (Wembley, the big occasion) and it could make the difference.

That having been said, my overall view is that you need either a solid defence, where you can just nick a game 1-0 - most play off finals seem to be low scoring - or have goals all over the pitch, like Posh for example, to feel really positive. Right now, I don't rate our defence or attack to be honest. But hey, it's effectively a new tournament and starting from scratch, and you just never know.

When we make the play-offs (See positivity), we would play 50% or 66% of the games away from home. We have the fewest away defeats and 3rd most points on our travels in the entire top 4 divisions - only Portsmouth and Leicester have more points and we have games in hand...

Do some people think now we probably won't get automatic promotion try not to finish top 6 because
We didn't spend the Kitchin and Anderson money on like for like replacements.
The Lincoln defeat proves we are not good enough.
Because the board and the Directors running the club are incompetent multi millionaires.
Matchday experience isn't up to championship level.
It's not the club I am giving up on but the vocal section of our supporters that are making things worse with the booing and social media comments. I don't want to be associated with them or have them continue to drag my club down.

I for one think we have decent players, coach and owners and am excited about another playoff run.

I don't think the Lincoln defeat proves we aren't good enough, the same way the Port Vale win doesn't prove we're the best team in the division by miles.

Lincoln won’t continue their run and won’t make the play offs.
Have Reading, Wigan, Oxford & Portsmouth to play yet all tough games and if Oxford win it’s all over for them.
    IMO of course.

I’d concur with a lot we aren’t good enough to go up but not sure what I’m basing it on, poor football style with no plan B or worry over what we’d do in the Championship? One thing I do know no matter how poor we’ve been to watch in my opinion apart from first 45 mins against Pompey there aren’t any teams that I’d consider better than us, I’d include Lincoln in that as bad as we were last week they weren’t 5-1 better than us it was a fluke result ( obviously they are bang in form and scoring for fun).
