Do we still need a striker in to replace Norwood?

How can you say dallas isn't ready after 90 minutes in a quite weak team. Looked good at the weekend infact alot better than watters did.

I think he will be a decent player for us, it was obvious last night he needs a bit more time to adjust.
We need 3 strikers to rotate, Watters and Cole are the main two and a new recruit at this moment in time is required to ensure we a strong enough to push on from the start of the season.
Watters is better currentlu than Dallas Shaw Jalo Marsh and these 4 just need more time in my opinion.

I think Jalo is pretty much ready now, based on last night's cameo. His trickery won a couple of free-kicks almost immediately. He's got bags of skill, good pace and, as his penalty showed, lots of confidence.

A season in League 2 playing week in week out rather than a bit part here will help him more at this moment in time.

Both players are part of the first team squad, so why would they not be training with them?

I can't see us going up without a physical presence alternative up front.

It's a shame that neither Marsh nor Jalo are ever going to be even moderately close to big enough for the job, cos they both have something about them that will probably take them ahead of Dallas and Shaw.

I mean the more time spent training with the first team will improve them but they are just not ready yet to start games if watters or Cole are missing we need a stronger 3rd striker for this season until they are ready.

You weren't surprised we got rid of Norwood though?

I think last night proved that Dallas and Shaw aren't a partnership but Cole and "X" or "y" is a partnership. As is Watters and "X" or "Y".

I don't think Cole and Watters is a partnership like I didn't think Cole and Norwood was a partnership. Both main men.

Both Dallas and Shaw will play well with a Watters or Norwood.

Watters and Cole doesn't work and Dallas and Shaw doesn't work.

    Try swapping a variable.

Yes, we do. We need a tough, strong, savvy centre forward, like Norwood was. I think we can get a lot better than Norwood, even on our budget, but yes, we need someone of that ilk. We may not play such a player every week, but we need one. I can't think of a single reason not to sign Connor Wickham. 'He's always injured' is not valid. He's not anymore. He's grown out of that. He's big and strong and experienced and he can't half play. Just sign him.

Wickham has scored 18 league goals since 2015.

    Roughly 2 a year.

He scored 6 or 7 in first half of last season at Forest Green though I think. Strange that he doesn’t have a club really.

And he scored 6 in 13 starts for Forest Green Rovers, of all clubs, last season, which got him a move to Cardiff. As I said, looking back to when he was injured is not valid, he isn't injured anymore.

Well, firstly, no he's not. He signed for Forest Green over 12 months ago and then Cardiff bought him. When they bought him they offered him a contract for the rest of the season. And he wasn't looking for another club when he was at Forest Green, a Championship club went in and bought him because he was playing so well. Why wouldn't we want a player that a Championship club wanted to buy after his performances in League 1 only last season?

Wonder if we will go down the loan route again.

    Someone like Boro's Josh Coburn.

    20 years old

    6ft 3

and scored 10 goals whilst on loan last season at Bristol Rovers.

Norwood and Cole worked okay I'd have liked both to score more. Watters and Cole worked okay on Saturday one had a good game other wasn't involved.
