The thing is both Derby and Reading had ‘strong’ squads with players that potentially should have them easily in the top 10 if not in contention for a play-off place. I think this is largely forgotten by many particularly with WRDC, when they talk about a ‘Great escape’
Derby avoided relegation on the last day of last season, and then were docked 9 points and restricted to free transfers and 4k/week for any signings in the summer. Just a fraction of competence in the summer would've seen us comfortably above them after their points deductions, even after the departures of Ismael, Murray, Mowatt and Dike.
Think its unlikely but Im still hoping that two wins in three and a couple of decent performances is a springboard to another great escape.
I think the problem with comparisons with where we were at this stage in 19/20 might be invalid, as Wigan hadn't yet gone into admin, so unless somebody else is docked points then we need to better the effort of that run in, and can't afford slip ups like the Stoke and Luton games in that period after the season restarted.
I don't think it will be anywhere near 50 points this season. I reckon we can afford as many as six defeats providing we don't draw any.
I reckon the same, we need to win half the remaining matches. Obviously if the other 3 do that too we're still going down.
I'm pretty confident our owners would believe and Mr Conway would tell us that they were right all along.
Difficult to ever say a definite no but this season is as close as you can come to saying goodbye is mathematically possible but extremely unlikely.
I am quite a nice bloke in real life. I must admit the BBS which I have always loved being a part of is grating on me recently. I am reducing my input a bit but not ready for a flounce just yet.
I don’t think we’ve an earthly. We have to beat Derby, Reading, Posh and at least 5 others and this seasons vintage simply isn’t good enough to do that. And with Boro and Fulham on the horizon those 8 wins may seem even further away in the next week or so……..
Enough points are pwft to play for to keep us up. However I have accepted relegation. I just can't see us producing the kind of form required to do it. Credit to the players for the recent couple of wins though, whatever else the faults this season they are still trying.
I went for option 3 were basically down. Shame really in one of the weakest championships in years neglect from the top.
