    No

It was coming from an England point of view

Players gathered round after the incident which in my opinion wasn't even a free kick, Rooney then pushed Ronaldo out of the way which I though might draw a yellow card.

The ref was awful for both sides throughout the game.

RE: I don't think Ronaldo did anything wrong either

I don't think the push was even worth a yellow, these things happen all the time during every match.
But like I said earlier, perhaps the referee was waiting for the situation to calm down a bit before showing the red card? And well, Rooney's shouting and pushing probably helped the referee to choose the colour of the card...

Maybe. But even if the refereeing in this tournament has been shocking, a red card for a little push like that would be outrageous. If it wasn't for the kick in the nuts, then there must have happened something else that we didn't see. :)S)
Because, um, you just don't get sent off for touching another player, even if the other player is C(heating) Ronaldo.

Well, Tomi, the ref gave the free kick and signalled for that. Only when Rooney pushed Ronaldo did the ref then go for the card and signal to Rooney that he wanted to talk to him

Having seen the pre-match nudge to Rooney's head

that the spotty Portugese scumbag did I don' think the cry baby will ever set foot in Manchester again, well not as a Man U player.

At least RVN will be back at Old Trafford though.

Perhaps... if that's the case, then even I could start believing in some of the conspiracy theories!
I guess we'll just have to wait for the referee's comments about the incident, though.

Not saying anything about conspiracy theories Tomi, I said after a few decisions in the 1st half for both teams that the ref wasn't up to it.

What about at the end of the game?

Clearly after the whistle should have been blown he let them punt it up the field and waited another 2 minutes while they had cross after cross into the box, then as soon as they fecked the chance up he blew for full time.

Sorry, I didn't mean that you were talking about any conspiracy theories.

    doesn't anyone find it odd.....

that one person is being blamed for the lack of victory and ignoring the fact that the other 10 on the field failed to put the ball in the net? they had 90 mins kids and didn't do it. end of story.

stop grasping at straws...if it truly came down to the fact that Rooney got sent off, why not blame him for not having better control over his body? why not blame Beckham for getting injured (yet again in the cup) why not blame the stars? the moon?

come off it, England lost because they had the lower score at the end...just like USA. only we suck more than you do and are realistic enough to admit it.

    yep

It wasn't Rooney getting sent off that meant we lost on penalties.

Same against Argentina in 1998, we got it to penalties even with only 10 men....we couldn't put it away.

I have seen the Rooney incident several times now and he did not get sent off for the nutts tackle,it was cheating get ronaldo.Watch as carvalho went down the ref did nothing, ronaldo ran over to the ref and rooney pushed rooney brandishing the invisable card then the ref reacted and a striaght red,the camera then picked up ronaldo going over to the portugal bench with a wink a smile and a sssshhhhhhh motion. What a player sorry cheat:(( :(( :(( :(( :(( :(( :(( (furious) (furious) (furious) (furious)

I don't blame Ronaldo for the defeat, bloody hell...

I simply said that he was a pr*ck and that he's much braver than I think he is if he goes back to play for Man Utd.

Whatever you want to believe, he was trying to antagonise Rooney into getting sent off. And also, he is a diving, cheating, over-arrogant little piece of excrement. He does it week in, week out in the Premiership, and he's done it in most games in this competition.

He's everything wrong with football - he embodies it all. Arrogance, cheating, diving, hurling abuse at referees and opposition players, all of it.

England didn't win because they didn't score. Fine. But that doesn't change the view that Cristiano Ronaldo is a cheating little tart, and that if he's willing to face Rooney, Neville and Rio in pre-season, then he's braver/more stupid than I thought.

Its no coincidence that he was perfectly happy to admit his interest in a move to Real Madrid immediately after the game.
