Does anybody actually like Adele's drippy miserable singing?

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
Dreadful singer now, talks and behaves like a chav, has a tattoo, what will she be like when she's 80?
(apart from having a tidy bank balance)

Yeah quite a lot of it actually. Couldn't listen to too much in be go but to hear everyone often yeah why not.

Then again I'm not a snob who thinks that certain kinds of music should be looked down on (not saying you are)

My Mother thinks she's brilliant and paid £70 odd per ticket to see her live.

If you're not a fan (which I'm not) - simple solution.

Megadeth got an award at the Grammys?

That's surprising for 2 reasons, first that the Grammys are honouring Megadeth.

Second that Megadeth actually won an award.

Don't mind hearing her songs but would never intentionally play one. I couldn't care less what she looks like or whether she has a tattoo or not though as it's none of my business.

Chart music is the worst it's ever been, been watching the old TOTPs on BBC4 (started in 1978 now up to 1983) and there;s some garbage but loads of great songs too, not like all the crappy identical-sounding R&B dance stuff we get now.[/QUOTE]

Out of interest, how old are you? There's a very good chance that current chart music isn't targetted at you and the reason you like the older stuff is because that was.

I remember watching her live performance of 'Someone Like You' at the Royal Albert Hall on to and thinking wow, what a voice. At the same time on another channel was a Madonna concert. No comparison, Adele's live performance was far superior, Madonna's voice was all over the place

I like jazz in small doses, usually when used as incidental music to films or TV programmes. A great example from a while ago was the Beiderbecke Trilogy starring James Bolam - three part comedy television drama which featured the music of Bix Beiderbecke. Trevor Chaplin (the Bolam character) was a devotee. "Music like silver bullets shot from a bell" I think was the quote he used.

I must admit that I enjoyed listening to that, as well as watching every episode. I bought it all on DVD a few years ago but have not played any of it since. Saving it for another time.
