i do because a) i'm an eternal optimist anyway b) throughout the last 3 years we have always pulled results out of the bag and are better against better teams anyway and have our best players returning c) 50 points is a target to stay up anyway, not necessarily a neccesity
there is going to be few more twist and turns. forest must think they are doomed losing 5 nil at weekend. and on paper look to have hard run in

RE: We will stay up Derby, Watford, Coventry and Plymouth are winnable with the right attitude. That is probably what changes at the end of the season. We go to places and have a go because we have to. Why don't we just do it all season?
Yup. Never actually thought that we'll go down & still the same now. Full compliment of players after the Palace game so there's no excuses if we don't.
On Saturday's display we have no chance. The manager and team really need to look at that performance and take a big wake-up call. I honestly believe that we can beat any team in this division, IF the team believes in themselves. But we seem to believe that if we concede first, we will not get back into the game. Tuesday night is a massive game. We ALL need to be up for it - Manager, Team, and Crowd. FFS, if we are going down, lets go down fighting!!
The problem is mate... that the manager does not seem to believe in his own teams ability and consistently sets them up to "avoid defeat". With more belief we would have beaten Brum and with more attacking invetion we would have beaten Blackpool. Instead, we won neither and Genius claims we are a better team than Blackpool. Who is he trying to kid?
I did But the performance against Blackpool suggests to me that the manager and certain players either aren't up for the fight or aren't good enough.
Foster, DeSilva and that Iranian bloke can't get back soon enough.
Lots of players had an 'off day' on Saturday. Moore, Hamill imho were the only ones who got near a Championship standard performance.
Every season just like the last - where's this 'progress' I hear so much about ?

A bit like Sir Alex stating Man Ure played better than Liverpool!! THAT had me rolling around on the floor!!
I have to agree Saturday was totally unacceptable, seemed like they thought they could beat Blackpool at half pace, having done well in parts against Birmingham, very disappointed, no excuses. I would hope the manager had them in the dressing room afterwards reading them a few home truths about earning a new contract and livelihoods at stake cos League 1 is a very real possibility if thats the level of performance we're going to put in. Foster coming back and hopefully De Silva might help matters, but we created barely anything worthy of goal opportunity, so its there were we need the biggest improvement. Dont want to single a player out for criticism, but I thought Colace was particularly poor, and has been for several weeks, not sure what people see in him, and unless Hassell is going back to right back, I'd drop him for De Silva straight away.
On the balance of the season.. they probably will be. But for Davey to claim we are better than Blackpool is pushing the realms of make believe for me. I mean we have failed to score against them and have lost twice to them this season.
But don't you think.. SD's excuses are the same every week and are becoming very predictable? It's all rhetoric from him because nothing actually changes. He'll have avoided the dressing rrom in case he said something he might regret. Colace has the skills, but lacks a yard of pace. That's why he gets exposed. Any chance of this loan defender, preferably with a left foot?
Who signed them?
Who trained them? Who picked them? Who motivated them? Who dictated their tactics?

A new face might help a left back is too much to ask though. El Hamouir, good grief. Im more worried about our lack of goals though to be fair, Bogo looks tired after an hour, Mifsud scurries around but hasnt really hit form yet and Macken plays well 1 in 5. Davey needs Foster to play every minute of every game til the end of the season, and if that looks unlikely (2 games in a week with his injury sounds a bit much) he probably needs a centre half. Either an experienced head to steady the end of season nerves, or a Premiership youth with confidence to actually pass the ball. Too many hid from the ball on Sat, put that down to a lack of confidence maybe.
That's what gets me We probably are better than Blackpool, but when we get on the pitch we aren't! I know that sounds daft, but we have some good players at the club, but as a team we don't perform consistently enough. If (when) we go down, a big shake up is needed from the manager down. And I do believe we need a more experienced manager.
RE: A new face might help I think the side has fear in their hearts every time they set out onto the pitch, with the exception of maybe Moore and Hammill. We are absolutely petrified of the opposition and as such players worry about them instead of us. There's got to be a better left footer in the reserves or academy that El Hamouir, surely to god? We all need to believe we can win games. That has to start with Davey.
