It's not a bad suggestion having Cranie as a sweeper, ala Gary Fleming/Matty Appleby.

    Who'd be Eaden and Barnard/Thompson?

Me & madmark, or better still, a couple of new signings.
Seeing as I'm now retired (have I ever mentioned that before?), I suppose it'll have to be a couple of new signings.

I've always been impressed when RNL has played wing back other side no idea. I think Cranie would make a good sweeper myself would probably hide his deficiencies and bring out his qualities.

If Cranie stays I wouldn't be at all surprised if he ends up playing quite a bit of the season as our holding midfielder especially when you consider the only other player for that role currently on our books is an injury prone 19yr old in Digby

I think bringing him back into the side possibly cost us staying in the Championship. He always ends up where he shouldn`t be. I dont really think M`Voto is all that either , but we looked a lot better with him and Nyatanga at the back than Crainie .
I am not saying he is a bad player but he aint the best Centre half in the league ! In my opinion obviously.

Not beating Donny, Charlton, Yeovil or Wednesday at home were more damaging than anything I think we were down because of that. Cranie is an enigmatic character. Assured on the ball but often exposed off it.

I agree about the partnership of Big Jean and Nyatanga but stick by my statement in terms of basic ability he is the best centre half in league 1. The gulf in class Is fairly enormous to be fair where ok players like Maguire can look like world beaters.
