Bloodyhell, I nearly came out in a cold sweat then. Working where I do is helping my phobia of horses, but nothing, I repeat NOTHING will ever ever ever help my phobia of spiders.

RE: funny i used to work in a lab that did research on spiders

I used to be petrified of spiders. If I saw one I couldn't get it out of my head for hours. I have managed to rationalise my fear as I have got older. Still can't pick big ones up but I will put a glass over them and throw them out and I don't have sweats if I can't get it out from behind the tv cabinet (where all the wires are), watching the floor all night. I sympathise with people who are scared though because I remember what it felt like. Not really scared of owt now, never understood the clown one.

    No they're not

They're vicious creatures who will tear you limb from limb given half a chance.
    Paranoid ? Me ??

You should have come for a visit

We used to give people a box with a spider in to carry across town.
And watch them tremble with fear.
Only after the event did they learn the box was empty.
Not sure if it helped, but we had a laugh

    Let's put it this way

Anyone trying to hand over a spider in a box to me would've found their teeth being punched through the back of their neck.
