just to clarify I wasn't even talking about the price when I said if we don't sell out its a **** up. The people that mentioned the price were all supporting us not selling out and wrongly assuming that the only reason we won't do is the price of the game
Spectemur why are you been disrespectful to the premier league and Carling cup champions by saying that they will field a team of reserves. Amos; R Brown, De Laet, Gill, Dudgeon; Eikrem (Norwood), Hewson (C Evans), James; Obertan, King (Brandy), Tosic. That's the reserve team that beat Blackburn res 3-0. http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid={B4CEE8FA-9A47-47BC-B069-3F7A2F35DB70}&newsid=6641736&page=3
RE: When you have a family to support Try and be a little bit more condescending in your next post Supertyke if possible I have committments like the next man so don't make the false assumption I live at home. That is irrelevant to this debate and was not mentioned in the initial arguments for not going.
Just to clarify then I'm assuming you're not going tomorrow Supertyke - if not what's the official reason? Is it the uplift, ignoring the charter, saving beer money or feeding the family?
you assume wrong I will be going. I think that under 'normal' circumstance the club should have kept the price to the same as league games but as Ive said before I think an extra £5 to pay for simon daveys payoff is money well spent. My only complaint is that the customer charter has been broke, not only by increasing the ticket price but also by ignoring section 4.11 and failing to explain the REASON they chose/were forced to increase the ticket price. I feel this shows a complete lack of respect towards us the customers. A simple explanation on the website of why the club chose to increase the ticket price (Was it to pay off davey? was it because man utd refused to go below this price and so we caved? was it set by the FL/FA? or was it simply that we chose to cash in?) Whatever the reason, section 4.11 of barnsleys OWN customer charter which they have agreed to abide by is in place for this very situation and yet it has been ignored and indeed broken. That in my mind is unacceptable and is the sole reason that I am unhappy.
the liverpool game oh hang on it wasn't then. erm the chelsea game? no no you're right it wasn't then. was it the huddersfield play off semi? oh crap no not then. it was cardiff at wembley wasnt it. what? you mean that wasn't organised in the best manner either? It was against ferencvaros wasn't it. No complaints about how that was handled.
That's what im saying. WE ARE NOT PLAYING A RES TEAM IT REALLY IS THERE FIRST TEAM. Why are people putting a downer on the game tomorrow. If people don't wont to go just don't go but don't moan about the price (sorry if you really cant afford the game). Anybody who goes away will no that 25 pound plus travel (Bus/car/short train ride) is not that bad for a footy game. (cost you 35 pound at most)
RE: you assume wrong You should ask Barnsley FC consumers champions `The Supporters Trust' to take up your concerns over the Customer Charter.
RE: the liverpool game the Liverpool game was the only time when it's been run poorly in my opinion For all other games anyone who could justifiably claim they had a "right" to a ticket have got one i.e Chelsea and Wembley
The last two rounds were £10 and £15 Hence even adding this game, Carling Cup tickets have cost £50 for 3 games - less than £17 a game.
The Man City game was a **** up too The club didn't realise so many fans would turn up - hence the queue's outside at about 3pm. If I remember rightly too the club told everyone to descend round to the Pontefract Road End, that was full so they all had to go round to the West Stand meaning folk didn't get in till about 3:15ish? Was it Eaststand Lower who said that he had to pay £10 to get in as they wouldn't take his ST book for the incorrect stand? When the club adamantly said it was unreserved seating and you could sit anywhere you wanted to.
thats right but the charter doesnt say 'on average over the course of a season the cup games home and away will work out on average to be less than the cost of an home league game' does it. My point is they broke the charter and they then failed to follow section 4.11 which said they would explain the reason for doing so to the fans. I don't see how that can be defended
I'd not say Wembley arrangements were well arranged. Many season ticket holders got crap seats and the STHs had to deal with the huge queues for upto eight hours.
For the chelsea game there were queues lasting for hours when there was no need to be, I feel that constitutes a **** up. For the game at wembley people were turned away from the ground after queuing for hours with the club saying they had completely sold out of the 'good' seats causing many fans (myself included) to buy the cheap seats 4.6 miles from the pitch at wembley only for the expensive seats to go back on sale the day after and stay on sale for a further 4 days. I consider that a **** up
RE: That's completely irrelevant I have a house and a car and a family and quite likely earn more than you but youre wrongly making the assumption I'm not going because the price is too high, I never said that. I said I choose to watch the match on SKY and go to the pub saturday with the £25 saved (in reality it would be £50 including beers and travel costs). Its my decision. End of. So dont come on here patronising people who chose not to go for one reason or another like Tommy used to with the "Real Fans went to Luton" quote.
What about Wembley? Season ticket holders had to queue for upwards of eight hours for a ticket and if they couldn't have time off work for the day they went on sale they were fecked because people were allowed to get four per season ticket so none STHs would have had better tickets. Also if it was two not four per season ticket the queues would have gone down much quicker.
tickets sales have been poorly organised since spinks was given the bullet And the Rowing bloke is a arrogant ******
