I think that, if english clubs truely had players who could play in Italy and spain then they would be sought after from abroad.

    Thing is

During those times in Italy every squad had a core of Italian players with just a few foreigners. In the English Premiership the core of the squads are foreigners with just a few English players.

This is the part I was referring to -

Platini is worried by the financial muscle of the Premier League and the likes of rich owners such as Roman Abramovich and wants the authorities to take action to make sure English clubs cannot run up huge debts to pay for transfer and wages

wasn't the amount of foreign players it was the money that the clubs had to entice the best players to Italy!

And since Platini's appearances in a Juve' shirt quite a few Italian clubs have been found out. Fiorentina and Juventus come to mind straight away. Mind you; the ol' oyster muncher surely didn't appreciate what was going on in the background back then? Most footballers are only concerned about their shekkels! Maybe Platini sussed the crap situaio whilst delving around being a chum of Blatter's? (dunno)

I still agree with the bloke....... Mind you; how great it must be to be Chelsea/ Man Utd in 'debt' and get away with it, whilst the poor blokes at Millmoor (amongst quite a few others) get punished for a similar situation?
