That's not true. In order to be classified as a 'rainy day' there has to be 2.5mm of rainfall in a 24 hour period

Not according to the met office.

I did get my decimal point in the wrong place though, this is why I’m not an accountant or an owner of a football club!

it’s 1mm anywhere in the UK as per the deep dive video further up the thread.

It's currently 8 degrees with a maximum high today of 13. Boris Johnson has hidden in warmer fridges.

It does seem like we’ve have low front after low front bringing rubbish weather.
It’s the strong winds that a marked difference for me over recent years.

One of the likely affects of climate change on the UK is wetter weather as more water is evaporated from the warmer Atlantic Ocean. More clouds could make it generally cooler - except for really hot spells like we've had for the last few years. If the Gulf Stream breaks, we're also likely to get much colder winters.

Although it could just be a freak year.

No sign of this global warming that always gets mentioned this year so far.

Sorry to have to bring this post back up again but with the state of the weather lately it seems like it’s true what they were saying.:(:(

Sorry for everyone else but I was just saying this morning that I wish every summer was like this one. It’s miles better than sweltering every day.

I'm heading up town this afternoon after Laura picks George up. Hope pubs aren't too packed.

In my entire life I don't think I've ever heard anyone say "up town", it's always been "down town"

You obviously don’t have kids. These wet days are a nightmare, can’t hang washing out, jobs in garden put on hold. Don’t get me wrong I’m not asking for sunshine and warm days all the time, but this is horrendous. It’s July at least let’s have a spell of dry and warmish days so we a at leastget out and about. Going down Cornwall next week, hope it’s nowhere near as rainy as last year

Sure. Although it’s not been pissing it down every day but even if it had I don’t particularly mind a bit of rain when the temps are high teens/low twenties.

We’ve had the tumble dryer on today but we’ve had the washing out all the rest of the time, just got to watch the forecast and time it right. I don’t have kids but have taken hundreds on day trips and residentials this summer and we just put a coat on and carried on.

Just got back from a week down there. Came home a day early. Managed one and a half days of decent weather, the rest was rain and strong wind. Really disappointed, probably won't get away again this year and there's not even been any nice weather too enjoy in the garden (usually had a few family BBQs by this point).

    Our weather patterns are f'cked.
