Like all manager appointments I think we've a right to be nervous. However, given its flicker who has decided who stays and who goes then I think it's just a case of the lawyers crossing various I's and T's. I also suspect that with our most dominant centre half in the air leaving that a replacement is all but signed on the dotted line along with the beast that is O'grady.
Re: you spotted that one too... Well said. This is my perception and experience of Rowing and how the club is run too. So much more potential there outside the 90mins on the field and it is just not utilised.
It's not his fault Cos imho he's not suited to be the 'go to' person for a Championship football club, but he manages to say everything and nothing all at once. Never known anyone as contradictory. Hey ho, let's just hope if Flicker signs on then he does the talking and Don stops with the admin side.
Re: It's not his fault Christ can you imagine Don as Manager? I can imagine his post match talks. "It was great to get a late equaliser but I am disappointed to lose the match" "I am looking forward to our next match in a fortnight, a local derby against Huddersfield. We have a good 3 weeks training to prepare for this big match"
'We're very confident, we've offered him terms that are currently with the solicitors and believe it'll be confirmed within the next two weeks. He's currently contracted until May 31st anyway so I don't think there's anything to worry about. All our focus now will be on planning next season with David and his team in charge'.
Why two weeks? Whyyyyy? Sorry, but that just sounds like deliberation to me. Other offers, issues with terms, or just standard process???
There was. Within 60 seconds of the final whistle of the Huddersfield match Don gave an interview to Radio Sheffield where he stated that David Flitcroft would be offered the job of manager.
I'm interested to see what will happen should Flick and the M's sign on, get the structure and players they want, then we hit a bad patch. Just wonder how much patience the board will have with someone who told it how it was and had to be ?
Andy Ritchie certainly wasn't given any time to turn things around. And when was Simon Davey sacked, was it 7 games in to the new season? There was a very strong argument for dispensing with Davey's service at the end of the previous season, thanking him for his efforts and going with someone else, but to sack him so soon in to the new season after backing him in the summer seemed like madness to me. We'll see, although we can always hope that Flicker never has a bad patch and we never find out.
I hope we get promotion like, but I get the impression that 'we' don't like being told what needs to happen.
Re: you spotted that one too... Id guess they did have a strategy for league 1 and staying up.....and the championship budget..flickers not happy with...ala Robins..
