RE: But... Only when they play really badly but my negativity is countered by your valuable support which you give from your living room. I'm sure they really appreciate it. The thing is if we had 20,000 fans and they were all like me we'd have plenty of money in the coffers. If we had 20,000 fans and they were all like you we'd go bust.
I don't agree with that Glynn. The ITV digital deal went down after we'd been relegated in 2002 and therefore we wouldn't have been entitled to the £3m. I think League 1 clubs were due to receive £300K. so whilst it affected continuing "championship" clubs I don't think we can use that as an excuse as we wouldn't have received it. That is my understanding but I stand to be corrected.
Dave

RE: No...he does not.. I was complaining a bit though for the last twenty minutes. You can't fake passion.
RE: No...he does not.. Not at all. I have no illusions about your mate. Just prior evidence of what he claimed he used to do.
I think to be fair.. it's all calmed down these days. The passion has been sucked out of it, one way or another.
RE: Dennis put the club into admin by building all that lot! ........no he didn't His own veg selling buisness went bust several times.
'Nuff said.

RE: But... My valuable support? What does that have to do with it? I go when I can, I make no apologies for that. Back in the 60's and early 70's that meant every week, these days with a family to tend to time is limited. Money is not everything James, I'm certain that the club would rather have 5000 appreciative fans that tried to lift the club to greater things than 6000 boo boys that basically just went and took the piss. We've spent shedloads of cash that the supporters have coughed up over the years on some utter dross, and yet I've seen young players bought for free, had the crowd behind them and become legends. Money don't mean squat without the right backing.
RE: I think to be fair.. You may be right. Sitting on the Ponty for the Man City game it didn't sound too bad.
I was not there.. has a wedding. But what I mean is that there is a fair amount of apathy at Oakwell these days...
but left the club with a legacy that can't be argued with Training pitches Academy site Indoor astro Stands with exec lounges that generate income for the club - forever.
RE: But... It has a quite a lot to do with it when you come on here gobbing off at anyone who has the temerity to be critical of the club without actually going to the matches. Money means squat? Next we'll hearing that we don't have the money to compete with other teams in the Championship and using that as an excuse for being at the wrong end of the table. Ask PC what he'd prefer - my bet is he'd take critical season ticket holders over armchair supporters any day of the week
RE: I was not there.. Then I'm afraid division 4 beckons. It was only the personality of Steele and the influence of Clarke / Hunter that got us back into the second tier where we belong. If the fans can't muster the encouragement then we'll get what we deserve.
But that's just it... I think a lot of it eminates from the club, or certainly did last season. Open minded for this season like...
RE: But... Now ther you go, getting aaallll upset. Bless. Do you believe that you be able to get to every home game for the rest of your life? Or are you smart enough to think that your life and circumstances may change? Gobbing off? I think I've put enough money, stress, pleasure, pain and commitemnt into Barnsley Football club to give me the right to answer back the boo boys and tw@ts that revel in putting the club down. And as for what PC would prefer, why not write and ask him FFS! I'm sure he's aware there was a club before he took over. Anyway, keep going, there's a crowd around having a proper old laugh at you.
RE: but Another positive thing about John Dennis, when he made a poor managerial appointment, he at least got shut again!
You are both correct, but both of you are pig headed You wont agree with each other , when a blind man can see that each of you has a valid point. Silly sods.
