It's not a case of what he 'can' do hemsie - it's what he does do.

Which is little so far. I'm sure he may well develop into a good player, he may already be a better player than some we have, but the fact is - in my opinion of course - that we have several players at the club who are more effective playing in that position, with the way we are playing, in our squad so there's no point him being here.

If he's not gonna play, he'd be better off not playing at manure and training with better players every day. The only argument to keep him would be if a relegation rival wanted him - there's no point helping the opposition strengthen (dont tell that numpty Dave jones!).

Any news on a potential left back?

Insert 'wing' where you deem necessary in that last question...

Perkins and Dawson can get up and down. Dawson was our top league scorer until not long ago and Perkins has his fair share of assists and goals. Etuhu was a winger and makes Yaya Toure like forward runs.

He'd start in a deep lying midfield two rather than CAM like Mellis. That's the same position as Dawson, Perkins and Etuhu so he's directly competing with them.

He's shown nothing so far. It's no coincidence that our two lowest conceeding games since he's been here (1 against Burnley and 1 against Brighton) he played no part in either game. Yet when he has played we've conceeded 5 twice amongst other big amounts like 3 against Bolton.

When we survive it will be down to the squad we already have, permanents plus loans.

On current showing his only similarity with Drinkwater is that he's from Man U. He may turn into a good player, meanwhile we get relegated, no good, we need players who are good NOW.

Send him back to Man Utd along with HT. He's a massive Man Utd fan these days.

He's behind kelvin and daws IMO, but who knows, he might have a blinder and click. Daggers would have been shipped out long ago, if it had been up to us lot

Indeed we have, no good having them on the bench while this pudding is playing!

He might be a good player for the future but we've onlt got 10 or so games left and we need players for the here and now.

For me he's behind Dawson, Perkins & Etuhu in the pecking order and from what I've seen I'd rather play Hassell or Delap over him if 2 or more of the first 3 are out injured.

We could probably afford the wages of Tunnicliffe plus 2 new defenders after our cup run but I just don't see the value in keeping Tunnicliffe around at this moment in time.

I think people are being far too quick to judge. Short memories really as there are host of Barnsley players that have been labelled near on useless previous to settling in; JOB **** for a full season. Golbourne, Dawson, Etuhu. I know the kid hasn't got long as he is a loanee but he's certainly got some talent hiding somewhere or he wouldn't be at Man Utd and winning awards, worth keeping for the rest of the season.
