It's unhelpful background noise, it's conjecture dressed up as hope (even if it is said with the best of intentions), and it invites more rumour and speculation. It's not what we need right now. We need facts and certainty. If Khaled really has some big news, he should speak it. I am with you on those who look to bash the club at every opportunity, it's pathetic. I've defended them more than most, particularly last summer when the chips were really down and I wrote a dissertation on here on 'Spectemur Agendo' in defence of the board. But this drip feeding hope while saying nothing of what that hope is actually about, isn't helping anyone.
Think he's settled here now. His daughter goes to same school as my kids in Ardsley. I sometimes see him dropping her off in the morning.
I think there will be some big news coming down the line. It's unlikely to be related to on field issues and Khaled should have kept it under his hat. The sad thing is though that some people are totally incapable of accepting that something is coming and then waiting like adults. I agree it was a mistake to allude to it when he did. He probably won't make the same mistake again and will then, undoubtedly be traduced for not holding a dialogue with the fans. The very same fans who want information on the manager search would be the very same ones that would then spin that information into wild conspiracy theories and put slants on it that sow discontent. It's depressing.
Let's hope we hear something soon in relation to what Khaled was previously referring to, and then a line can be drawn under it. I agree that some expect too much, and Khaled is chastised for holding things back at times, but if he didn’t dangle the carrot then he can't be blamed for what the fans don't know. He could just release the information when the time is right for him and the club, and I believe people would respect him more for that (rather than a 'there's something coming down the line - I'm not going to tell you what it is, but some people will know, and they won't tell you either, but get excited' approach). With this course of action he's setting himself up to fail. And don't get me wrong, I like the guy, and I like Gally - I believe they have the best interests of the fanbase at heart. But there's ways of doing things. I know that needs to be counter-balanced by fans having a modicum of restraint and patience too.
