Re: Still at Hull Uni, mate

There's been Polish miners here for years, my dad worked with a couple and one lived across the road from us. My dad says they were the hardest workers there, the guy over the road I always remember when he was getting his coal delivery in (when it used to get tipped in front of your house) he used to use a wooden fruit box to shift it, we had a wheel barrow and my dad often offered to lend him it and he wouldn't accept it.

Every time I closed my eyes the contrasting visions of you and Paul Rammage in leotards came to mind, I didn't know wether to be scared or amused.

When I started in the Wages Dept. back in the seventies

I was actually thinner than Paul!
I can't believe it's nearly two years since he passed away.

Yes it was a shock mate when I heard, he was a good bloke, we used to take the p155 out of his hair, we used to call him Freddie Boswell (the dad in bread), always had a dopey grin on his face but he gave as good as he got, he took a while to make the transition from the office to shop floor but he became a good member of the team, sad loss.
