Unfortunately it now just seems to have become part of life in today's society. No great shock when you hear of a bomb going off. Same as when you hear of a RTA. We seem to all now have become accustomed to such reports of sadness.
I think I know what you are trying to say but the wording isnt how I would put it. Its not a simple as confronting the terrorists. Clearly anyone planning to cause indescriminate harm is a criminal and should be dealt with appropriately, but we need to be careful. At the risk of giving far more time to Gloria's assertion that the Muslims should be thrown out than it deserves, that is exactly the reaction the terrorists are trying to achieve. Their aim is to create disharmony between groups. If Muslims and everyone else are getting along fine how can they create the war they need to "destroy the Kafirs and create the caliphate". If they can create conflict between ordinary Muslims and other religions/ agnostics they are one step closer to their goal of forcing their extreme version of Islam on others. A much more measured approach is needed where the extremists are starved of publicity and the means to reach others, whilst mainstream muslims are made welcome as long as they are happy to adapt to the countries they are now living in. That doesnt mean converting to Christianity or even dressing in western european clothing, but it does mean adopting the freedoms of religion and equality of those countries. The Muslims I have known do do exactly that. Its very difficult to achieve though when the right wing media (in this country the likes of the Sun, Express and Mail) - there are equivalents in other countries keep doing their job for them with their hysterical reactions
I followed this news story from the beginning and at no stage was it ever thought to be just a "firecracker". Where did you get that ridiculous notion from? It was considered to be a serious incident from the very start.
aye alright when have firecrackers contained metal pins? http://news.sky.com/story/borussia-dortmund-team-bus-attack-police-probing-islamist-link-10834285
When I've got a guy threatening that I need a firecracker "up my arse" when I suspect he knows having read the forum a while that I had someone close injured in an accident with fireworks because I disagree with him on a forum I think it's safe to say that yes, I do have the moral high ground.
One thing is consistent. UEFA have fecked up badly again. Ridiculous in the circumstances that the match was staged 24 hours later, when one of the Dortmund players was injured & no doubt the rest of the team traumatised. I appreciate there were travelling fans out of pocket, but if UEFA is going to communicate by text message that the game must be played, as is reported in the press they should be ashamed of themselves.
I thought I'd bump this up seeing as there's news of an arrest has been made. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-39664212
