Doyle to Preston a bit odd given our thin squad?

Mixed feeling about Doyle, quite often play seems to slow down when it goes through him, just a bit laboured in the old trap.......look up.....turn inside.....pass back/sideways........
    That happens quite often.

BUT. He was outstanding against Coventry, at the end of the game he was almost physically sick he'd put that much effort in, he certainly can do a job in midfield from that performance. Dunno, he's certainly better than Addison, I can only assume he's done something to annoy Hill and Hill doesn't look like he's a Martin Johnson type manager if you know what I mean.

Ever thought Doyle's asked to go and get games? I can't see him being particularly happy playing second fiddle to Perkins, Drinkwater, Butterfield and Addison. And it's only a month's loan - we're not getting shut.

    Plus he's **** anyway.

It must be financial, that's all I can assume cause surely it makes more sense to send Addison back.

Never saw what posters on here saw in Doyle. He works hard to win the ball back off the opposition and either gives it straight back, or passes it backwards. Only when all his options are closed behind does he pass the ball forwards. And before everybody tells me about the pass in such and such a game, I know, but did you see the 100 that were aimless or backwards.

No big loss. A tryer but Perkins, Drinkwater and Butterfield have shown what a decent midfield unit can do, especially in keeping the ball and keeping shape. Doyle's not a terrible player but if he isn't first choice, and he isn't, he's not going to be happy at his age sitting on a bench and being a bit part player. Alternatively, it makes sense to have a player who's played some football to slot back in if Drinkwater goes when his loan is up.

    Decent move I think.

We can recall him if we need him. Maybe Digby can do a job in KHs opinion. Looks a decent player to me. Will do Doyle good to get some games.

    A bad move

If we need to save money short term couldn't we have just sent Addison back or even just not brought Disorderly Bob in from Newcastle?

Also, why are we doing Preston a favour

Given the teddy-throwing strop they had when we asked for Iain Hume back?

Agree. Something must have gone on behind the scenes. I think Doyle is a great player. I had concerns after the Middlesborough game that he wasn;t going to be able to adapt to Hill's style of play but since then I think he has. And the pass for the Gray's goal against Coventry wasn't a one off, his passing range has improved notably.

What does surpise me is that Doyle always struck me as having a fantsatic attitude. His work rate is phenomonal and discipline to maintain his postion and play to team orders is fantastic. When we were forced to play him centre half last year he had a great game and in another match when we had a player sent off he was the first player to go over to Robbins to get instructions as to how the team shape should change. A number of people remarked on here he would be a future captain.

I'd be suprised and disappointed if we don't see him back at the club

If he needs to be move don then fair enough but please don't play Addison Keith. Players like that will get you the sack.

    Big statement from Hill really

It seems to say, regardless of how thin our squad is, Doyle has no place? I know the brand of football we play doesn't suit Doyle, but to send him out on loan is a bit of a mystery.

One of our best performers last season, not had a look in this.
