Thanks for that. An excellent read.

Thanks, although it gave me no pleasure to write it. I remember when I used to talk about what great players we had, and how well we had taken the goals and...and...oh, you know what I mean. When I say "great" I mean for this level we are at now, and maybe the one above.

I'm not in Total Despair City, Arizona regarding the current situation but I can see it just round the corner. A long way round the corner, but it's there, waiting.

As I've said many times before I've seen much, much worse in all my years following this club and talking it up to everyone I have ever met, whether they wanted to hear it or not. Actually, it's amazing how many people have said "Barnsley fan? Wow, that's great. Good for you following your home town team" or words to that effect.

The thing is though that no matter how many hundreds of miles have separated me from Oakwell it's always been a habit I cannot break. I'm nowhere near ready to break it now that I can get to as many games as I want. Too much lost time to make up so, whatever the opposition, bring them on!

The football club b is the only thing that connects me to the town, despite still living here. Close family moved out of town, friends all over the world and my office in Daresbury there's nothing I relate to here other than the football club.
