not sure you can compare the two. duff has over 200 games under his belt, a play off season and a promotion season
Good vid worth a watch thanks for posting ,is it just me but this delay on the announcement seems weird surly you don't leave one job until your 100% sure on your next move and if he is what's the hold up.
Im hoping we get a full video package with the announcement. Would be nice to see Duff arrive, explore the training ground & pitch, meeting players & coaching staff (Disco reunion), plus interview.
Thanks for posting. A good watch which does give some insight into what our new man is about. After such an appalling season last season this has been a great summer so far. The new Board set up and the signing of a potentially excellent managerial prospect augurs well. Difficult to get excited at my age but having watched the vid of MD he could be just what we need. ....... Down to earth, determined, tenacious, well experienced in the English game, knows what he wants, knows how he wants to play, high standards, good work ethic, very well respected by those who have worked with and for him and loved by the fans - whether Burnley or Cheltenham. The proof of the pudding etc but this looks to be the right fit. Well done Khaled and the new Board for getting the man they wanted. Credit where credit is due.
I can't honestly think of another realistic and available manager that I'd get as excited about. The caveat there being, and one I've repeated a few times, is the last time I thought that was when we got Nigel Spackman! I think this is an excellent shift towards the type of coach we needed after the last two. Especially when you're strategy is focused around younger players and a clear identity, with man management at it's core.
Only time that I ever got excited about a managerial appointment at Oakwell, since Bertie, was Mark Robins and it fell apart very quickly there! On paper, it was a fantastic appointment full of promise. Rotherham fans loved him till he left them. I really like this expected appointment (if confirmed) but don’t expect to get excited by it, we’ll just see how it pans out won’t we?
It must be agreed, surely? You wouldn't let someone meet with players and other staff if there wasn't a basis of agreement?
All I can think is they've agreed terms with Duff but not yet agreed a compensation figure with Cheltenham, or they want to unveil the new coaching team in one go.
