    Sorry Jay, I was probably being overly dramatic. Way I remember it, he came to the dawning realisation that he wouldn’t be getting much financial backing and walked, but then that’s a completely uniformed opinion too… I only meant “fall apart” as in that he left relatively prematurely, not in terms of his management itself.

    I hope I'm wrong, but isn't it possible that Cheltenham have announced Duff's departure without mentioning Barnsley because he has told them that he will definitely be leaving..... but has not yet decided if he will take Barnsley's offer or another one (maybe Blackpool).

    If Duff is bringing even one member of his old staff to Oakwell I would imagine it could put Laumann at risk.
    Deavaney and Harban have already been promoted to first team duties and if for example Wade Small comes in that might leave us a bit top heavy.

    The Cheltenham reporter, Jon Palmer, seems to be under the impression that we aren’t having any of their back room staff. He’s been pretty on the money so far.

    So let’s get this right it’s been reported in local and national media outlets 3 days ago that Duff is taking over at Barnsley fc and he’s allegedly been talking to players and staff on the training ground and yet the club are once again leaving the fans in the dark.Personally until I see him holding a Barnsley scarf above his head there’s still time for this to go belly up.

    It's really poor that the only media not reporting on it are the club he's supposedly gone to. Should we be surprised with our track record of keeping fans in the dark? Not even a statement about not commenting on press speculation, more in due course etc.

    The thing is the longer this drags on without any reassurance from the club then the more fans think it’s gone pear shaped and let’s be honest would anyone be surprised.
