Maybe the young voted Labour because Corbyn actually made the effort to speak to them, whereas May and her cronies didn't.
Older people are much more likely to vote out of self interest Here's one. Or not because here's another. https://twitter.com/chunkymark/status/873411253519233025 Energise and motivating young voters should be the job of all parties. Only Labour tried it because they are the only ones giving a message of hope of a future just like the were in 1945. In between younger voters have been sidelined and forgotten. What gets me is older people who benefited from free university education criticising young people for wanting the same. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. Also tories accusing others of voting in self interest. That hypocrisy is mind blowing.
It needs to be pointed out again and again that we currently pay upfront the fees and then over the next 20-30 years supposedly get the money back. However the delinquency rates on these loans is approaching break-even point - so we are almost spending as much money on write-offs and administration in chasing the debts as if we just didn't bother. Meanwhile its obviously discouraging poorer people from going to University as the stats show.
