Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming anyone, as overall I think the Fanzone is a good idea.

I just think the Club don't appreciate how many, and how much of a help parking there is to so many fans.

I agree. I suppose they could request more info as to why people want to park there, to get an idea of whether it is out of necessity or laziness. The problem is this might breach DPA rules?

Tricky really. I’m sure they’ll sort something though.

I’m composing a letter to Paul Conway to ask if he is aware of the problems posed to older and/or disabled supporters by this plan. It might take a while to get a reply as he is often away. It is apparent from posts above that there are others in the same situation as me. One other is my mate who I take to the match (I’d managed to forget all about him! Sorry ****.) We’ve been going to Oakwell together since we were about 11 years old. He is a year older than me but very unsteady on his feet, and he’s not at all sure that he can make it from a distant parking spot so is considering not renewing.

Could you all get a grip, this is a future investment for the Club. I would think the owners would do anything to piss anyone off.

Whichever way you look at it they basically want more fans to be at the game before during and after the game.

Of course it's there to encourage spending, but if it's not a good experience people won't come. They'll keep to their current matchday itinerary.

I've no problem with the club making more money if the product is worth the money.

If they want more fans to attend games all well and good but they still need to look after the ones ALREADY attending games especially the ones who have stuck with them through thick and thin mentioned in this thread.

Who's said they're not? It's not a "new customers only" deal they're talking about.

The club is trying to improve things for everybody.

I don't get this entitlement thing with football fans. I'm one of the "thick and thin" people, although I'm neither thick or thin

Apart from via checkatrade games, I've not missed all season, home or away, in fact I've missed 2 league from 3 seasons yet it never enters my head that I should have special treatment or that I'm going to have my nose pushed out by new fans.

I want existing and new fans to fill the ground, swell the coffers and help us on to better things.
