I don't see what the EDL bring to this situation. Maybe we'll all be stunned and their diplomatic intervention and bridge building ideology will result in the kind of cultural reflection that will bring people of all races and creeds together in the spirit of protecting children? Alternatively it might just be a crowd of unwashed nazis that are both proud of what our country achieved in the second world war, but also openly espouse the kind of views that so many fought and died to defeat?
I don't know that much about the guy if I'm honest I've just seen him on TV a few times where they've got him in for interviews and rather than have a debate with him about the valid points he's making they dismiss everything he says to focus on something in his past, particularly on the BBC where he has then failed to turn up for interviews - not a surprise seeing as they only had him on to fulfil their own agenda yet slated him for letting them down. I'm not justifying this bloke at all, or the EDL, I've just always been prepared to listen to both sides of the story and when covering the EDL the media picks up on the yobs who've jumped on the bandwagon when they probably interview hundreds of people who speak eloquently about what it is they are campaigning against yet, of course, the media wouldn't show these people. As much as I despise the BBC, I have to say the Stacey Dooley programme from a few years ago where she looked at the racial divide in Luton was quite refreshing as it actually showed the side of Islam in this country that the EDL are campaigning against, I'd suggest looking it up if you haven't seen it, it's on YouTube somewhere.
Find me some reasonable people who support the EDL so I can read more closely Unless you attend their rallies?
We do here to an extent, although they tend to be called 'Radisson Encore' or something! The Australian approach seems to be that they welcome people of all faiths, as you'd expect a civilised country to do so, but they must accept the Australian culture. That hasn't been the case here, instead it's us natives who have to adapt. I've been on so many 'Diversity' courses that I could probably set up a company now to deliver them but do you think people of different faiths/cultures who settle here are forced on to courses to tell them how to respect OUR values and culture?
I've never had to adapt native behaviour or custom unless you mean racist or bigoted behaviour that "we've" had to drop?
Grooming occurs in all walks of life unfortunately - church care homes , schools - often white British males - where's the same level of outrage then? Where are the marches and protests?
don't get me started on the catholic church. not so much outrage, when parents are wanting to get epiphany & tarquin into the best schools
I hadn't realised all the migrants to Australia were required to live by the Aboriginal values of the indigenous population, which presumably is Australian culture.
On this occasion they are one rung further up the decency ladder than the rapists and molesters in Rotherham.
What exactly is a native? My great grandparents came here from Ireland. Am I a native? Or, am I ok because I'm not a muslim, or because I speak the same language? It's each to their own, it really is, but spending so much time in the company of muslim men and women, Polish, Slovaks, Lithuanians etc etc, it does open your eyes a bit more to reality. They're just normal folk in the vast main. But like the Brits who move abroad, Spain etc, they tend to live in the same areas as folk of their background. It's only natural. There are no doubt some ******* sick and depraved, evil muslim men and women in this country. But there'll be more sick and depraved, evil 'natives'. Guaranteed. It's awful, the Rotherham abuse case. Sickening. Answers are needed. But if I was caught with indecent photos, the press wouldn't refer to my heritage, race or faith. Unless of course, I was a converted muslim....
Went to one of my best mate's wedding the other week. He married a Gujarati girl. It was amazing. Hindu ceremony in the morning, he'd got all of us Indian gear to wear, and then a civil ceremony followed by an awesome night do where I ended the night going mental to Arctic Monkeys on the dancefloor with a load of Indian lads I met on the stag do. The whole event was brilliant, especially the mehndi on the Thursday night with all the henna tattooing. Now that weekend proper enriched me, my wife and my two years old's lives. I'm glad they didn't abide by our customs. It was a mix and celebration of both families heritage and it was great.
Everytime one of these marches goes ahead the anti fascist league turnout and cause as much if not more trouble as the edl
Ok then. They're all basterds and going to take over the world. Have a day off, pal. Put thi mask back on.
