Maybe Isgrove may be loaned out elsewhere? Can't see a club actually signing him, based on his injury record. I think if we did knock back 2 million euros for Thiam, it would need to be a substantially increased offer to let him go at this point, but who knows. This lad looks a good one to bring on off the bench.
Hopefully be more of a success than 99% of recent signings we've made off non league teams. Would have been good if signing Roberts had lead to another boom period like when we got Bullock, Shez etc.
Stendel did say tho the other day that "the club" are wanting him to introduce young players. But he did say he will only pick them if he thinks they're good enough. So what GG says and who Stendel actually picks/plays may differ.. Just look at Victor, got a new deal but Stendel doesn't pick him. Ether plays Brown or an extra mid-fielder... So there's maybe already a bit of conflict. And in the Hecky blog interview the other week, he said that him and GG were at loggerheads.. Might be better after GG goes..
We've done pretty well from non league over recent years. Roberts and Pinnock being the 2 obvious ones.
With Green and this lad look raw potential on wings!! In this division especially pace would rip up the league. Love it when someone with pace runs at opposition so looking forward to seeing what we’ve got. Also allows us to let go Isgrove and Hedges and should reduce wages as these lads will be on less I’m sure. Looks decent business. Also club gets to see young Striker up close and see if he adapts to style of English Football.
Mate you’re making a hell of a lot of assumptions there. Not saying you’re wrong, but GG has only said this guy will be pushing to be involved in the first team not that he should be in the starting XI. Offering Victor a new contract isn’t a statement from the CEO that he should be in the starting XI as a result. He’s being used when needed and was fairly affective on Saturday. Used perfectly by Stendel.
