Certainly not, then again, i remeber Watford away last season, when hammill was sat on the bench, while macken was running up and dwn the wing like a headless chicken and Mifsud was doing what he does best, sweet FA. And then davey bring Hammill on for ....................... Bogdanovic????? What i mean is, Davey is very unpredictable, and tbh, i wouldn't be suprised if he did put JCR in the middle to accomodate the other two.
Could have been, Wiki seem's to think he's over 6 foot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emil_Hallfreðsson
The excuse he gave at Watford was "He wasn't fully fit". If your fit enough for bench, should be fit into to start!
RE: "If your fit enough for bench, should be fit into to start" So, your saying we should put an injured player on the bench then? And if we need him because of further injuries on the bench then what do we do? If a player is going to be on the bench then should be ready and raring to go if needed.
good interview here FIRED-UP Iceland star Emil Hallfredsson has vowed to show Spurs they were wrong to dump him - by killing off our World Cup dream on Wednesday. The powerhouse left winger was signed by former White Hart Lane boss Martin Jol in 2005 with dreams of hitting the big-time in the English Premiership. But in the same transfer window the London club snapped up a further 13 players and Hallfredsson was left on the sidelines. The frustrated star failed to feature at Spurs and was farmed out to Sweden before eventually signing for Lyn Oslo two years later. The 24-year-old has fought back and is now starring in Serie A with Reggina, battling against some of the world's top players. But Hallfredsson - who will be one of Iceland's key men against Scotland at Hampden - will never forget the pain of being dumped by Jol (below) and Tottenham. He said: "I went to Spurs when I was 19 but never got a chance. "Then I went out on loan to Sweden and played well for Malmo, scoring goals. Scouts from Reggina watched me and a year later took me to Italy from Oslo. "My experience in England was so disappointing, I just didn't get a chance and would like to go back and try it again. "Jol signed me on January 1 then 13 other players came in after me. I was the first player in but they forgot about me. "It was difficult because I had left my family and my club Hafnarfjordur, where I was just semi-pro. I never got near Spurs' first-team and it wasn't much of an experience. "It was a big step but it didn't work out for me in England. "Eventually I would like to come back to the UK and would consider Scotland if the right club came in. I like their tough style of football. "I want to prove I can play at that level. Maybe someone from Spurswill be at Hampden - I'll be giving 150 per cent in that game to show they made a mistake." Hallfredsson was one of Iceland's best performers in Reykjavik last September when the Scots got their World Cup qualifying campaign off the ground with a 2-1 win. Emil loves playing in Serie A and won't be fazed by whoever George Burley throws in at rightback at Hampden. He has already faced Inter Milan and Brazil hard man Maicon, who Hallfredsson claims has muscles in his face! Hallfredsson said: "I like Serie A - I played really well last season but sadly this year we are bottom of the league in Italy. "I have faced some great players at AC Milan, Juventus and Inter. My toughest opponent is Maicon at Inter, he's a fantastic full-back. He is the best defender I have come up against. "He's so strong, he's an animal. Maicon has muscles all over his face, he's a beast. Once you have faced someone like him you fear no-one." Tough guy Hallfredsson insisted Wednesday's crunch will be one of the biggest in Iceland's history. And he has urged the rest of Olafur Johannesson's squad to be prepared to die for their country in Glasgow. He is aware of the threat Burley's men pose and picked out Manchester United star Darren Fletcher as our main man. Emil said: "Holland are the favourites then it's between us and Scotland for second. So the game at Hampden will be crucial. "It's so important for us and we have to go there and fight. To be honest we have to die for our country that day. "We believe we have a good chance of qualifying - this is one of the biggest games in our history but we are optimistic. "I thought we deserved a draw in Reykjavik. We were unlucky but Scotland are a fine side with good players at big clubs in Scotland and England. "I like James McFadden a lot but know he will miss our match. That's great news for Iceland. "Darren Fletcher is also a good player and it amazes me when I hear people talking s**t about him and saying he's not that good. "He isn't one of the stars at Old Trafford and doesn't get the credit he deserves. "But he may find it difficult being a main man for Scotland."
