I saw Livingstone face his last few deliveries and he was like a man possessed. It’s a big playing area so why does he keep trying to knock it out of the ground ? As DB said, they managed 334 without a six
Just read this thread, believe me yesterday cricket was secondary, it was a day of survival. I was silly enough to be present in the Riverside Stadium at Chester le Street.!
So, it’s the decider today and both sides have been plonkers or world beaters in the previous two. England are favourites and so they should be looking at our players individually. Carse is another to add to our injured bowlers but we seem to have a good stock of replacements. It seems that Brook is not going to be considered as a first choice player in 50 over games and Salt is Stokes’ replacement. It’s a shame but he can concentrate on getting a regular test place now. I hear that Wood has had an injury setback so he’s out for a while longer
It seems left arm medium/quick bowlers are flavour of the month in this England team. As for Stokes replacement I'd say more like Sam Curran than Salt long term.
Yeah an all rounder for an all rounder makes sense but Curran played in 1st game as well. Salt is very much on trial at the moment
Totally forgot it’s at Headingley . Yeh .. the toss winner will bowl surely. If I’m wrong at least it makes two of us
I went on Friday to Old Trafford. First time ive ever watched an international. High levels of skill on display, TV doesent do it justice. Well impressed and already planning another.
Here getting wet. De kock been superb. Surprised they didn't throw the bat around a bit more when they came back out, duckworth Lewis will surely favour us!?
I’m about 10 miles south of Headingley and the rain is incessant. Apparently it is coming from the west and is due to stop in the next hour or so.
That’s how I felt watching the shortened final day of the test at Headingley versus NZ. It was marvellous watching professionals playing cricket when I started many years ago but this is several levels up.
