Dunno. Maybe you're right. There's plenty of examples though, where English/British flags are flown with pride and not associated with far-right tendencies. Whether that's football, olympics, the Proms, Royal events. I think this is different though. People painting roundabouts, zebra crossings, erecting flags on lap-posts and motorway bridges. My personal opinion is that they absolutely are linked to far-right sympathisers, and my bigger worry is that this isn't the tiny minority that people keep claiming. There's clear evidence of this through the ballot box. I was elated when the Tories finally got kicked out, and never imagined Labour would be this bad. They couldn't be doing a better job at opening the door for Farage if they tried.
A couple of weeks ago I was on a Norweigan Cruise and some flag ****** had put one on their cabin door. Why, just WHY. I'm ashamed of the Union Jack and theST Georges flag because they have been usurped by stupid right wing morons. Nobody can fly one now if they don't want to be labelled a racist twonk.
I wonder if this 'raise the flag' group will be proscribed as a terrorist organisation. Given they are vandalising property?
They are allegedly using ladders leant against the lampposts to put the flags up.if that's true then it's debatable whether that qualifies as criminal damage. They just aren't designed to be put under strain in that direction. Modern lampposts are supposered to collapse safely if hit by a car. Bloke on a ladder leant against the top of it is effecting levering it on a direction they are designed to collapse. If even one of them goes down or even just starts to lean, they will likely have to assess every single one that has a flag on it.
More chance than a cherry picker. To be honest I heard the truth is that Tommy puts them all up himself. Just by reaching up
