The point I was making was in response to hemsworth-tyke's assertion that as Fergie played Jones in midfield in Madrid, it has to be accepted to be a correct decision. In my opinion it wasn't. The other stuff was just trying to highlight to our West Yorkshire amigo that it isn't necessarily sunbeams and rainbows constantly shining from fergies backend. I'm sure hemsie's a bigger supporter of manure than most of their 'fans'!

I don't think Jones is particularly effective in midfield. He tracks well and provides cover, but I don't think he breaks play up particularly well and his ability on the ball is, understandably for a natural defender, somewhat limited. For this reason, and the fact I don't think he's quick enough, I wouldn't play him at fullback either.

And the fact Manchester United win the worst quality premier league in many a year will not convince me they are strong in central midfield. I'd be amazed if moyes doesn't sign a player for the middle of the park.
