The problems generally come from our players being too aggressive ((Bairstow and Root in this case) or having a shocking batting technique (Stokes, Lees and Pope). It will take a good number of years to coach players how to bat properly and have a bit of discipline and resilience at Test level.
I’d still have more confidence in Brook at 4 than Pope. Surrey have just moved him up the order this season with England in mind. They’ve done the same with Curran at times as well.
