Need to be careful in next hour as our last 4 wickets are not gd. If they get 6 out it will be a quick finish
Still over 200 to win, can't see it from here, once 5th wicket drops need to start playing for the draw
The flat track sloggers are trying their best. 50 for Bairstow. It's getting us closer, but it's all a bit sketchy and sloggy.
Massive mood change in this team though. Like Athers just said they wouldn’t chase down 3 an over last year. Now they’re going for 4.5 per over. This partnership is crucial though
you are allowed to enjoy it occasionally im a great fan of proper cricket as I’ve mentioned a million times no doubt, however right now what the the heck! Let’s see who blinks first
The difference between this chase and the one we didn't give a go to last summer. Bairstow is playing superbly. I hope @Exile is coping.
I enjoy technique, skill and application. Half track pies with an old ball and top edged sixes just don't do it for me. Bizarre tactics from NZ though. Maybe starting to tire with an extra bowler down.
Wonder what the percentage of top edges, slices and streaky boundaries is in that? Saw before the innings he still wasn't averaging 34.
4th highest number of test runs in a calendar year by an England player at an average of 59. Obviously all of them streaky. It's amazing he is still averaging 34 in tests given how much he's been messed around since by the test team and all whilst becoming our greatest ever one day player.
Whatever floats your boat. Just slogging because you have a poor defence doesn't make you a test player. Ideal scenario for him though. Flat pitch, no spin, no swing, no seam, consistent bounce, fast outfield, depleted bowling attack, tired bowlers, short boundaries. Right up his strasse.
