    Lees needs to get back playing for Hoylandswaine on the postage stamp of Haigh Lane because international Cricket isn't for him. It's OK going super slow every innings if you get a score once in a while, but he never does.

    Scale of the job will be becoming apparent to McCullum. The batters either nick off or stand so far across that they are LBW liabilities.

    Struggling to understand how Sam Robson and Harry Brook can’t get in this team.

    I think Pope has played his last test for a while and Brook was a selection error that will be rectified after the inevitable embarrassing defeat.

    The couple of wickets I’ve seen so far are just awful, the problem isn’t out batsmens technique generally, it’s the lack of brain matter.

    If the ball isn’t hitting the stumps on a pitch where the ball is moving, you Leave it.

    It doesn’t get any more basic.

    Difficult to say. Pope has been dominant at county level, as has Brook.

    It’s when England get hold of players that things go wrong.
