Ha ha, your post prompted my reply, I should have said 'one' rather than 'you'.

For me it’s simple, whether you agree or disagree with taking the knee, the bottom line is, the players wish to do so.Therefore, respect that decision of the players,if you boo you are disrespecting the players decision.

I'll take the win, its a win, but it wasn't a win that suggests England will, and should, do well in the tournament, it was pedestrian and robotic rather than exciting, having watched Belgium and Italy upto now this England management can only dream.

England's opposition were in a different league to Turkey and Russia though. I fully admit that Belgium probably had another five or six gears in them yesterday, but it doesn't change the fact that England had a very comfortable 1--0 win against the beaten finalists in the last World Cup. Personally, I'm absolutely delighted. Not every good performance has to feature samba football - far from it.

Watched the match in the pub & only just come on here but I can’t understand some of the negativity I’m reading.

No ones saying the Croat’s are as good as they were in 2018 but they’re still a good side. Apart from the group with France, Germany & Portugal in it none of the other groups have a ‘2nd team’ as good as Croatia. None of Belgium, Italy, Spain or Holland will play a a side as good as them in the group stage & we beat them without ever looking in danger.

We kept the ball well & apart from Walker (on the ball) everyone can be happy with their efforts.

A good afternoons work & all of Southgate’s selections worked out well.

Can’t see how anyone can moan at what they’ve seen today.

I'm a very proud Englishman of 60 years of age and I've seen pretty much every England game since 1970, and with the exception of 90 and 96 it has been *****, for far too many years natural talent has been coached out of some potentially brilliant players, the selection of coaches has been laughable and quite frankly corrupt, since 1966 upto now only 3 managers have any credibility at all, Sir Alf Ramsey, Sir Bobby Robson and Terry Venables, each of these men understood that talent in any given position should be given free reign to do the job.
I mentioned in an earlier thread that England are robotic, stunted and play with fear rather than freedom, we will progress to the knockout phase and again that will be it.

Next time anyone is bored watching England. Remember, there’s always a classic chick flick on, just a channel zap away.
Steel Magnolias today, I believe.
