Just one question how did the very poor Kane and Sterling remain on the pitch longer than Grealish as soon as he went off England lost their penetration. Kane and Sterling were the best defenders Hungary had both very poor tonight.

Talisman Striker not on it tonight and with our midfield running up field at ninety miles an hour to then pass back twenty yards ?
If Kane doesn’t get a goal from nothing against a decent hardworking side we struggle .

Why do people waste their time watching England group games or friendlies? Genuinely don't get the interest. We know we are going to walk the group stages so it makes matches rather pointless to play. I understand watching major tournaments and I do too when it's the very best against each other for a trophy. I don't get the interest in watching England play the likes of Hungary and San Marino though.

I watch it in the hope of seeing Saka coming out of his hidey hole

Let's see if our racist opponents are dealt with for their most recent bad behaviour.

Taking Grealish off when Sterling, Mount, Kane, Rice, and Foden were all less effective than him - this consigned us to a draw. Saka was completely pathetic as his replacement and ended up being a liability.

Hopeless display. Compelling evidence that this lot with this coach will find it hard to win in proper tournament football. Boring the opposition into submission is not the secret of success.

don't think we compare to the 4 nation league teams on show at the weekend, based on that game i can't see us winning the world cup, somehow we just don't seem to have the" quality" . Mason Mount isn't underated, he's only a young un and they've been banging on about him for years!
I think Phil Foden is the main threat for me. Jack Grealish maybe could be, but I think he's got into a really bad habit of "drawing fouls" and he doesn't get awarded so many in international competition,if he stayed on his feet he's be more of a threat.

Oh well at least we can rely on John!

He struggled to score at the start of the euros and then came good. Who would you pick instead?

Honestly not sure Helen, just questioning the wisdom of picking a player that isn’t scoring for his club side and has looked well of the pace every time I’ve seen him for England lately .

I get the feeling that England would play safety first football if they were playing Ward Green WMC

Scored 6 out of 10 appearances for Spurs, quite good I would have thought.

If you are that easily pleased get on with it
My opinion Southgate employs boring tactics and the amount of talent he has at is disposal it is a crime to waste it....
As for hatching a dig at our manager.....
I'd say it's openly known on here that not only do I want him out of our club ..I also along with quite a few others want Conway and Co out too
So I don't need to dig...
Guess you are a happy clapper or maybe you like to bury your head in the sand like the old ostrich and pretend nothing is wrong
My advice take the rose tinted glasses of and smell the coffee
    Have a nice day now....

Thought Kane went missing in the game like he does often when up against a physical back line that said during those times he can have a moment of inspiration and comes up with the goods so I understand the argument ...leave him on take him off.....last night in my opinion Southgate let Kane down as he was struggling to get in the game ...he could see he was getting no where fast and in my opinion should have fetched him off earlier than he did...for me he should have had 2 of the big lads Abraham and Watkins running at the back line with crosses a plenty ....
On another note I see on the BBC site they gave stones only 5 for his performance....surely that can't be right can it.. I thought he was solid all night man of the match for me....or am I biased

But the plonked with the whistle gave a pen for that when the Hungarian charged in on shaws blind side but earlier at an England corner was thrown to the ground like big daddy used to. The ref comes and gives their man a bollocking but does not give a penalty or a booking or kiss my arse
