Bit unlucky - it was a very good ball - but we bowled quite a few of those in Indias second innings that just missed the bat Just hope its not the start of a collapse and we dont see Root before tea
If there's 13 overs and 20 runs between every wicket at least it will last all day for the punters and we'll scrape a draw.
Amateur hour to lose a wicket in those circumstances. What were they thinking wanting a quick single? Malan was batting negatively like we are trying to see out another draw like earlier on in the series when we didn't even attempt to win that one either.
We're definitely hedging our bets here. Make the game safe by keeping wickets in hand but also scoring just enough that we can still have a go later. Shame to lose Malan as he is a player who can defend for long periods but also accelerate rapidly. There was never a run there and I don't get what Hameed was doing. We've batted sensibly all morning then he decides to hit and run out of nowhere
I don't think it's hedging our bets. Just play normal shots and don't do anything daft. If it's there to hit. Hit it. If it isn't, don't. See if we're within striking distance or shake hands.
These two need to pile on some runs in the next 20 overs even if we're not going for it to prevent India being able to go super attacking with the new ball.
I don't think he's helped by breaks in play. He doesn't seem to carry form over from one day to the next or from session to session. When he got out on 68 in the last test the runs had dried up and he hasn't really gone on today.
