Tonight was a dead rubber, I wanted us to win but the amount of changes made affected our performance. It wasn't good but we move on to the Columbia game when our first choice eleven will be back together.
Absolutely nothing to be gleaned from tonight’s match it was difficult to tell if either side actually wanted to win.If England were half bothered you would have thought they would have given Kane at least 20 minutes. Both sides had so many changes it was a genuine reserve match, played at virtual half pace for most of it with hardly a decent tackle thrown in.
Agree with almost all that. But I think Sterling will start. Had Rashford not missed the 1 on 1 it would have given Southgate more to think about though
I’d rather get monkey bum aids than watch the jocks at any sport other than Curling. ******* wnak at everything.
Their manager actually said otherwise, and even if they had it only showed their reserves were better than ours.
Oh Ian , not tossing off again at an England defeat . You must have forgotten how to do it . If we did that as a nation at every Scotch defeat we would be a spent force . But then again ......
Could not have gone better. Belgium will be on a plane home before England. Oh and Colombia's James Rodriguez is a massive doubt for our game.
Two points...the first comment, I had heard the rumours already...and its testament to your wonderful human spirit that you're not letting it get you down, the second proves we definitely need more curling threads.
In view of the replies... it seems everyone is rather sensitive tonight?...I put it down to the beer allegedly running out.
Touchy arn't we, it was light hearted & reading your posts in the past I thought you would take it but obviously not
We've conceded 3 goals. 1 penalty, 1 consolation goal at 6-0 up after we took our foot off the gas, and last night's goal in what was effectively a reserve game for both teams. 8 scored.
That was as good a defeat as could be hoped for. It won't have dented confidence because the team that were on the pitch were not the team who will face Colombia. The press aren't on their backs about it. Job's a good un.
Almost as funny as the Scotch who were literally weeping with joy because they though they had beaten England. Crying in each other's arms. Anti-English gammon-faces pink/purple with happiness. What happened next? (I speak as someone who is not generally interested in the England football team. But for a Scottish person to be laughing at them when you've never reached the knockout phase of a major tournament, even once, in your history, is a bit rich.) If there were a Deep-Fried World Cup, you'd have a chance.
