Maguire and Grealish both out of the squad.

Maguire is injured and would have been a doubt for at least our first group game. Maybe he's more injured than first thought as he is pretty injury prone these days.

Grealish doesn't play enough minutes. Southgate has moved more towards first team regulars and away from club bench warmers.

Didn't see Grealish missing out. Think he's pretty good at drawing fouls late in games and ball retention.

Eze, Bowen and Toney made it by the looks - bit surprising but you can't say they aren't good players.

Eze and Toney both very good penalty takers too.

Very big call leaving Grealish out, I can't disagree with the other decisions. Fair play Southgate.

Just looked at all three. Bowen has missed 3 from 9. Toney has missed 2 from 32. Eze has missed 1 from 8. We might be OK at pens this time around....

Thought grealish would go, a lot better player than Bowen, his cameo on Monday was very good and not had a hard season. Seems strange

Because Grealish is happy picking up trophies as a bench warmer he has only scored 3 goals this season.

Bowen has become the first West Ham player in nearly two decades to score 20 goals in a season and fell only 4 short of reaching 20 top flight goals for the first time since Tony Cottee in the 1980s.

It's Eze in front of Grealish. Bowen plays on the other wing.

Usually defended Southgate’s decisions in the past but personally think he’s dropped a clanger leaving Grealish out.The number of fouls he gets are going to be missed.

Think Bowen has been excellent for England and always looks a threat to me i really hope he goes.

Losing Maguire will be a big miss I don’t think Stones or Maguire have never really let England down.

Stones and Guehi as the centre back pairing then?

On that left hand side, Foden can do everything, and more, that Grealish can, whereas Gordon and Eze both offer something different.

The only inclusion that I’m not for is Dunk. He’s looked well below the level the majority of times he’s played for England. I would’ve put Branthwaite in ahead of him.

Yeah think so. Not too unhappy.

On a side note, the club with the most players in the squad is Palace. Which is a ridiculous stat really - good luck to them. And that's without the bloke who probably should be left back.

If Dunk is the answer someone is asking the wrong questions

I'm disappointed to hear that about Grealish, but it shows the talented options that Gareth has.
I see loads of ex players are now running their mouths for and against the coach/manager, and that's understandable of course.
But when it's somebody like Carlton Palmer having a pop, that's where it annoys me!.

I’d prefer Grealish coming off the bench than Bowen or Eze , strange decision
