Thanks for this. 99 out of 100 attempts at that would either result in a fresh air kick or the ball winding up in the car park, but live on Sky TV, he nailed it to perfection. Hammill’s two on the Wembley visits will always be my favourite, because of the occasions, but Barnard’s is possibly the greatest strike I have ever seen.
I was sat in the West Stand, pretty much right behind it. When he shot I thought he was going to clear the North Stand. I was half way through shouting "What have you done that for" as I saw if fly into the top corner. Probably would've been ruled out by VAR this year.
Was a while ago now for me to remember properly, but didn't it take him a while to get his first goal? His biggest problem, I guess, was that he was replacing a striker that was on a prolific run before suspension / transfer.
