Let’s hope the Labour right wing treat public funds better than their own parties election funding at the last two elections
what’s an election to do with whether you support or oppose a policy. In October Starmer committed to cancelling the Rwanda policy in full whether it was operational or not. He has since, possibly after a focus group, changed his mind so Cooper is left being unable to answer a very basic question. What people want from politicians is honesty is a straightforward answer to a straightforward question -like Starmer gave in October. If you cannot do that you create the impression that they are all the same. if you have principles stand by them. Argue for them. Don’t be so scared that you communicate and believe in nothing. That’s why people think Mick Lynch is a breath of fresh air. Ask him something he will answer and articulate his point. You don’t have to agree with him but people like honesty. If you get in a position wheee you cannot answer a very basic question then you really should not be standing for any sort of office.
They have as you will know, a series of policies in a program. All done via the party conferences and such. The manifesto what they will stand on, hasn't yet been agreed. So answering a question right now on the subject, is pointless, if when they get the manifesto together for the GE doesn't contain it. You just don't like the bloke. And that's your preference. But to bash a party and a bloke on something which they don't yet have an agreed manifesto on is utterly pointless. Other than if anyone wants to bad mouth the party in question to garner votes for others. I'm sure you have already read the policy/program ideas on the main labour site? The Tories are hell bent on clinging to power until they legally can't do. I'm sure at that point you and many others can pull the manifesto to pieces cos it doesn't contain what you want. That's all. We have no idea what they will actually stand for when the election comes. So why cause problems right now?
It’s not a question of the manifesto. The werent asking in terms of a manifesto just whether they would continue the Rwanda scheme. Starmer answered the question very clearly here https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-conference-stop-rwanda-flights-b2426078.html therefore they should be able to answer the same question today should they not? It’s not a trick question. It’s not about a manifesto it’s a very basic question. if a reporter asked or any other frontbencher are you in favour of continuing our membership of NATO do you think they should refuse to answer or just answer the question. I’m in favour of honesty in politicians . You may not be. That’s your choice. I guess
So what's your desired outcome out of this, Jimmy V? Keir isn't going to change the way he operates, so what's your next move?
