£3m plus season loan, add-ons and sell on-clause I could handle. Anything less and we've been robbed

Chesterfield are supposedly having interest shown in one of their players for 2 million, so Stones is worth at least double.

Has anyone given a thought to what stones wants? As far as I can see he is a tarn lad through and through. Whilst money talks, he might want to just stop with us for a couple of years. And if the club force him out cos of a silly offer them shame one them. As much as millions may be attractive, if he wants to stay, then money don't come into it. Id rather he stayed if he wanted.

Of course it comes into it. If we need the money we need to sell our assets. He might want to stay but if circumstances dictate we have to sell there's no shame what so ever.

What circumstances? We break even this season by beating Burnley in cup. So no debt. End of season for next year might be different. But we need our assets now to try and stay up. But still if he wants to stay let him.

There's a Jacob Butterfield hole in our budget mate and we've sacked a manager. FA Cup run does help, no doubt.

Without selling players we're always going to struggle - our budget is effectively shrinking each year.

Weren't you their at the last meeting when I asked don how we faired this year on breaking even? His response was if we beat Burnley in the cup we would achieve it.

my point is bridging the debt next season. keeping stones this season isn't an issue. IF he goes, he'll stay with us on loan for the rest of the season anyway. the biggest risk in all this is if we do go down, he'll almost definitely go at the end of the season anyway, but as a League 1 Club we'll get even less.

    Championship survival is that important.

But that's before sacking a manager and appointing 2 new back room staff mate. I doubt as it stands we'll break even without selling another player.

And the point stands that if we don't we have to find another 750k - million to have the same budget as this year next.
